Even if we drafted someone we should still get Braylon on a cheap deal. He didn't play last year and wouldn't have gotten paid a lot if he was healthy. He'd be cheap and everyone loves him.
the same type of person that goes on youtube...watches a video of a puppy being rescued from a storm drain and then handed back to the kid who lost it while everyone is crying...and hits "dislike"
Bah..take 3 receivers in the 7th round and the odds are that one of them will be another Colston..good receivers can be found everywhere.
As HOI pointed out.....In the same article...ryan slams shotty: Ryan described it as a joke, but he took a surprising shot at former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. “I told the team there’s only one coordinator that can stop the Wildcat with Brad Smith back there, and ... it’s Brian Schottenheimer,” Ryan said. “I used to kid Brian all the time about it.” Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets...n_return_sbyJWhwpi7cl1LiFDMKhII#ixzz1qPhmImZj
Since the higher emphasis is now on more occasional run-oriented spread offenses, I would love the move because it gives us in the least a great blocking receiver. We will need more of those because it's an area where we were sorely lacking in 2011.
If healthy, there are lots of familiarity pluses to bringing Braylon back. Maybe Rex will make Braylon watch Plax killing that guy last year and tell him that's what he wants to see.
Seeing that this late in free agnecy he's likely to get another small contract then yes, bring him in. Edwards fits well with what Sparano wants to do and there should be a comfort level there with Mark.
Holmes, Edwards, The Chaz and maybe a current guy on the PS or special teams/someone we draft? Sounds okay, not good or great but okay. Depending on which way you lean. Negative: a diva, injured, nobody Positive: rebound year, plays the same as he did two years ago, decent 3rd man Most people here lean negative so I know what will happen if/when we go into the season with a lineup like that.
I really liked Kerleys progression last year. He definitely seemed more comfortable on the field towards the end. I think he will have a great year for us.
I think the majority think this will be a great move, myself included, but I didn't exactly see in that article anything that indicates we are looking into him. Just because a reporter askes Rex about him and Rex says he played well doesn't mean we are pursuing him. Thats just a reporter looking for something to write about.
Does anyone know if Braylon was welcome back to the 9ers if he passed a physical? It seems the 9ers replaced him with Moss. Signing Moss was a much-questioned move. What does that say about Braylon? Was he a lockerroom cancer in SF? The Jets hardly need another negative influence in the lockerroom no matter his play on the field.
