Rex says about Scott being back "Yeah, I certainly think so" "Why wouldn't (he be back)? I know everything is reported or whatever...I can say this: I've had great discussions with Bart. He's got his weight down. He felt that he probably got a little too heavy last year." The article is at the Daily News
I guess they failed in trading him.. or they are still trying. This really sounds like anything but reassuring ""Yeah, I certainly think so" "Why wouldn't (he be back)?"
Well that takes care of ILB they can now focus on OLB RT FS WR TE He said he gained weight because he was going to rush the passer last year now he's lost weight and is gtg.
Good and bad. Yes, Bart does a lot of the dirty work that doesn't show up in the box score. But he's on a decline and players at his position are like the power backs of the defense, once they start breaking down it happens ugly and fast. It would be nice to get something in trade for him before his loses any value he may have. Let him have the twilight of his career elsewhere, he's replaceable even though he's good at his primary job.
I still think if the BPA at 16th is Hightower we need to greab him. He will be a monster in the middle.
 I like Bart. He talks a lot, but he also punishes fb and rb when given the opportunity. He should not cover anybody though. Anybody. Blitz the guy all day long, but do not let him, ever, drop back in coverage.
Even if he's available at 16, Hightower wouldnt be the BPA... hes falling down the boards.... Upshaw, Coples, Ingram, or Mercilus....
I love the guy, but he's a situational player that gets exposed when used out of his comfort zone. I'd like to see him start the season but the Jets still draft a jack backer in waiting to take over near the end of the season.
I was scratching my head as to how his play can decline so drastically in one season. Maybe the weight had something to with it because I don't ever remember him being that slow. There are greater needs on this team than ILB.
