Sanchez said last season he wanted to fight Rex when he was going to give some snaps to Brunell. Will he punch Rex for getting Tebow?

No, he'll just stop talking to Rex and Tanny.

I just hope Sanchez makes big strides this season. I sure as hell don't want Tebow as our starter.

Nah , he will just turn up his ipod a little louder during meetings and sing the soundtrack to "Oklahoma" a little louder.

I suspect Sanchez is ready to check out with the Jets at this point. He'll say all the right things and he'll work hard but he's looking at 2 years and out. Occupational stress is a real thing and the Jets have pushed all the wrong buttons with him over the three years he's been here.

The next position will be like a cakewalk compared to coming in to NYC as raw rookie and trying to win a Super Bowl with a revolving cast of characters around him.

The first two years of Rex Ryan's tenure were exhilarating for everybody but you pay a price for burning the candle at both ends while you dance the mad wumpus dance at midnight.

I think one thing that's being overlooked is that there's a new OC anyway. So this would have been a kind of precarious and stressful time.

For about 2 years, it's been in the back of the mind that Schotty was getting a bum rap because of Sanchez failing to effectively challenge downfield (not saying he wasn't, just pointing out the issue).

So we might have been in for a little bit of rumbling friction as Sparano comes in anyway -- whispers of Sanchez not being up to snuff in Sparano's system, etc. Or it could have gone the other way -- whispers and shouts of how great the change is for everyone, and the idea that Sanchez is about to reach new heights under a new OC.

But with Tebow here, all the oxygen will get sucked up by that issue. Tebow will become the personification and embodiment of the whole Sanchez/Schotty/Sparano/Rex thing that's going on.

Tebow will teach Mark how to throw the ball over 10 yards.

Throwing the ball over 10 yards at a cheerleader is not necessarily an accomplishment.

I think he challenged downfield just fine in 2010 when he wasn't in the "snap every ball with under 5 secs on the playclock" mode.

I think Schotty's system just flat out blows chunks. I think it was hard on everybody and the Jets played best over 2009 and 2010 when they were in 2 minute mode or ground and pound, anything but the puzzlebox that was Schotty's main scheme.

I think last year things fell apart because the Jets amped up the volume on the scheme with no OTA's and a fair number of new players in the mix. Confusion reigned, not least with Sanchez trying to direct the offense with a few guys who just did not get it.

Wayne Hunter looked absolutely lost in the space he was supposed to occupy for most of the season. Look at a few of the sequences and he's just dancing in space with nobody near him. Whatever the scheme called for it couldn't have been RT blocks nobody while the backfield is full of defenders.

I completely agree with you on Tebow though. We're in Tebow land now.

Have you seen what the cheerleaders look like?

    They should be throwing rocks.

I wonder how long it will be until the Sanchez Fans become nostalgic for the Schotty Era. Which is inevitable.

What kind of reaction do the Sanchez-enablers on this forum think he would of gotten if he played terrible and the Jets didn't have Tebow? To hear them tell it, our fanbase was prepared to be very patient with Sanchez and allow him to struggle for many games before kindly requesting we re-visit the QB situation.

On what planet was that going to happen? You were going to have "get rid of Sanchez" threads on this board if Sanchez struggled in Week 1..yet alone for a portion of the season. Blaming Tebow for this perceived "added pressure" on Sanchez is a joke.

Rex is powerless. He is like the big bully who is so weak. He is so out of shape. He thinks he is tough but he is more into feet than fighting.

It's not going to happen. Having the Jets lose the Raiders game where they gained 250+ yards on the ground with Favre and then lose the Bills game where they gained 300+ yards on the ground with Sanchez was enough to expose Schotty as a fraud.

How long did it take for Chad fans to become nostalgic for the Hackett era? Has it even happened yet?

The difference is that when Sanchez struggles next year the Jets will now bail much faster than they otherwise would have.

If they were bailing for a better long-term solution that would be fine but they won't be. They'll be bailing to somebody they're going to bail from a year afterwards, just like the Broncos did.

The next GM/HC combo coming in here is going to make dumping Tebow priority one. It's the waste of next season as the Jets very plausibly transition from Sanchez to Tebow that is depressing. It's very much like watching Favre in 2008 was ultimately depressing. There's no future on the team after Sanchez is gone until the next guy is drafted. Then we're going to wait a year or two to see how that works out.

Super Bowl in 2016? We can only hope.

Fuck sanchez feelings. If I was him id be working as hard as possible to make my doubters eat shit and silence anyone talking about tim tebow doing anything other than package plays.

I became one of the sanchez doubters last season not a hater just not knowing if we've already seen the best of him

But I see a high ceiling in him and ill be cheering for this guy as hard as possible this yr to reach his potential and. End the doubt

Schotty eventually made me nostalgic for Hackett but in truth that was just nostalgia for Curtis Martin and a plan as opposed to the free-form hallucination that Schotty's offense turned into from week to week.
