There was a survey that ask current players which coach they would rather play for. Rex received the most votes.
Is it just so happen, all the FA the JETS wanted voted another coach?
Mike T like to fill many hole before the draft. Looks as this year that wont happen. I'm glad they're not throwing a lot of money at anything that moves, but Mike T is having trouble getting second and third tier FA.
I know FA isnt over but the Rex factor is losing its luster.

This very simple and you need to understand, it's not difficult. If you want to know where a free agent is going to sign"follow the money".

He kept running his mouth and not backing it up in 2011.

Woody needed Tebow for attention. Rex's mouth isn't good enough anymore.

That was a stupid, hopeful, false concept based on dreams and not based in reality at all. Nobody wants to play for Rex if the dollar signs are more significant elsewhere.

If the Jets offer more $$, than said player wanted to play for Rex. Simple as that.

Hey now, Tebow chose the Jets!!! That's something right? I mean it may not be someone we wanted, but someone chose Gang Green

I don't get why people keep bringing this up. Wanting to play for Rex is not equal to willing to take a paycut. Would you rather get an extra year guaranteed plus 2-5 extra million dollars and work for an okay boss, or get one year, one million and work for a boss you love.

I just don't understand the concept that many posters have that connect the dots saying willing to play for Rex means taking a paycut. If the money/years were exactly the same, they yes we would see more FA signing here, but guess what, the Jets can't offer more money/years so they aren't signing here. To think this is squarely on players not wanting to play for Rex is ludicrous.

@ displacedjetsfan has a great point. I think most players want to play for Rex but the money isn't right. On the flip side, I think most players were also turned off by last years locker room circus. I think most FA want money, but I also think they want to win as well. Winning is impossible to do as a team when you're divided.

The two most common types of players in the NFL at the moment are those who want to win, and those who want to get paid. In their current state, the Jets attract neither.

Nothing has changed except the media's perception of this team. They are the ones painting the bad picture.

No, there are (i) players who want to win AND get paid; and (ii) those who dont care about winning and just want to get paid (which may be a little bit more).

all of the media keeps saying how bad our locker room is, how bad the jets organization is, how much of a circus we are, blah blah blah..after one bad season, we are getting bashed this much b/c people love to hate us...the media is the reason FA are staying away from the jets...no other reason

So you're going out on job interviews......
job 1: the boss seems really cool, and may be fun to work for
job 2: the boss seems like a bit of a dickhead, but you were offered twice as much $$

which job do you take? I'm sure at different stages of your life / professional career that choice may vary.

Seriously, the Jets got priced out of the Nelson sweepstakes by a team with the second most cap room in the league as of March 16th. It's not like they lowballed him. They probably offered what they could afford for a player of his stature.

I often agree with your posts, but this is so obviously factually incorrect I am surprised you posted it.

Nothing? Not making the playoffs? Yeah, the SB predictions didn't bother so much when the Jets at least got as far as the Champ Game, and twice in a row at that. But when they don't even make the playoffs, and lose three straight to finish the season, I don't call that nothing.

Then there's the lingering effect of Ryan's foot fetish story, his being fined for that confrontation with a fan, and another confrontation, and his increasingly BS post game pressers, and to top it off the whopping confession that he didn't know the pulse of his locker room, all that is nothing?

Holmes and Sanchez battling, is nothing?

Former and leaving players dissing the team's locker room, saying the CS coddled Sanchez, that's nothing?

Past contract moves by Tanny leaving the team in a cap bind with the need to get four new starters, for starters, is nothing?

Imo that's a whole lot of nothing to be literally nothing.
