If the Broncos defense was average, they'd have won more games. They were ranked 20th for the season.

I don't agree with this pervasive idea that suddenly Jersey and Jets fans across the country are going to start calling for Tebow to start or that the pressure to put him in the game over Sanchez will just overwhelm the team's decision making; New Jersey is not Denver. You won't see any billboards along the turnpike calling for Tebow to start. Unlike what people keep saying, New York has seen this type of thing like every year. Why do people think some half quarterback is going to come to New York and blow things up? The only problem we will have is media whores and journalist hacks like Cimininini will obnoxiously reiterate speculative crap till it becomes media "truth." Sure a few morons called for Brad Smith to take over the starting job when he was on the team but that certainly was squashed and appropriately rediculed by the rest of us.
The media caused the shit storm let them deal with it.

That is if you want to disregard they had several injured defensive starters at the beginning of the season that skewed their stats, who then returned after Tebow was named the starter.

There's no controversy now (except for the sort of fake stuff you refer to), but something Tannenbaum recently said makes me wonder.

Tanny, asked if Tebow could get significant playing time if Sanchez struggles: “If our offense is sputtering, and we have, say, three three-and-outs, and we roll this (the wildcat with Tebow) out there and it’s successful, who knows,” Tannenbaum said. “I think it will just depend on the game and the situation.”

Oh, of course - like the defensive rookie of the year breaking his hand after Tebow was the starter and the leader of the defense, Brian Dawkins, sustaining a critical neck injury.

Listen.....the Jets FO and coaches know that if this works and Sanchez improves and they're winning with the aid of Tebow....they look like geniuses.

If Sanchez struggles....they also have a backup that can even be considered as a possible replacement.

Tebowmania needs oxygen.....just like fire does. Losing is the oxygen.

If Sanchez continues to improve and the Jets are winning and Tebow is dissatisfied.....he'll be traded. Pretty simple.

Tebow is not an NFL-calibre quarterback. He's a great football player, but not a viable long-term solution at quarterback.

lets see, coming from the same guy that thought noodle was a franchize qb or that gholston was a beast and was going to be a monster pass rusher for the jets. and a sanchez is the sanchize fan, LOL.

you've been wrong so much more than you've ever been right, i'm surprised you would bother making any claims when it comes to football. you're not very knowledgeable about the nfl.

stick with peewee football, it better suits you.

Added pressure on Sanchez is good MAN UP or move aside.

The reality is WINNING. That's it bottom line. Feelings can take a hike.

This is why I can't take you seriously. GREAT young backup QB? Proven Winner? Dynamic football player? Immensely improves? What? I'd love to hear your logic.

What he sounds like he's saying is that when the Jets go up against certain teams that can't defend the wildcat with Tebow, they'll keep running it. Kind of like the first time the Dolphins ran the wildcat against New England. They kept running it because Belichick had no answer for it.

It is of course different than the Tebow situation because he's not a runningback taking wildcat snaps, but the only people that will see a QB controversy after a game like that are mediots and reactionary fans who have already given up on Sanchez.

Too bad EVERYBODY has the answer to the WC now. Between that and the GnP, this offense just might put the entire stadium in a coma.

It's not that everybody has the answer to the WC, because they don't, it's just that not many teams in the league have had success executing it. 2 teams that executed it well consistently were the Dolphins and the Jets because they had the right personnel to run it.

Teams rarely had an answer when Brad Smith ended up under center, even after they had realized that there was a .002% chance of him throwing the ball. He had the skillset to take advantage of the scheme. Ricky and Ronnie worked together in the WC like a well-oiled machine.

Tim Tebow was built for this type of role, although it will only be effective if they can get him on the field in non-WC roles, like H-back and wingback.

Lucky? he threw for 300+ yards against the leagues best defense. take away that 80 yard pass and its second and 10. whose to say they dont still drive down the field and score?
