Rex, Tony, & Tebow have the same agent, Jimmy Sexton. That is the connection and is most likely how we got involved.

Ha, dude, I agree Jet management is a joke. I dont like Tanny and I dont like Rex. As long as an owner is spending money, I dont get too crazy on him. That said. I am very surprised that THIS is the move that is making a majority of the fan base hate our pwers that be. I just dont see it as a huge deal. Gholston? Thats something that can hurt a franchise for years and years. Tebow trade simply is not in that ilk and the only argument people are clingin to is that either A) he will divide the lockerroom, you know, the worst lockerroom in football last year or B) Tebow being there will put too much pressure on Sanchez. A first round pick playing in NY--yea, he doesnt have any pressure on him.

It's more about the never ending fucking sideshow this team has become.
Been going to games since Shea. We gave up our season tickets before last season. So glad.
Woody is doing more long-term damage to the Jets than any player could do.

You want the reason Tanny is on every media outlet today

It's not to sell the trade to the fans

It's the Tebow factor, the Jets just instantly became the top media draw in the NFL

I won't go so far as stating Tanny is a "horrible" GM as some have posted here, but more like a "feast or famine"-type exec. For ex, he "FEASTED" in the '06 &'07 drafts with 'Brick, Mangold, Brad Smith, Leon Washington & D. Coleman followed by brilliantly picking REVIS, D.Harris & Chansi Stuckey (whom he flipped for Braylon)! Then disease & "FAMINE" hit in '08 w. Venereal Gholston & Eric "The Pharmacist" Ainge (Dustin Keller was his salvation). Sanchez, Green & Slauson in '09, Vlad in '10 & so forth. He signed LT; got Santonio; ended the Revis hold-out; signed LT, Cromart', Plax....Tan-man has done some good (as well as bad) & deserves some credit.
However, signing Tebow, IMO, was a straight fail designed solely, as others have stated, to sell psl's/merchandise etc & to generate "buzz"!
I listened to both his interviews on Boomer/Cart & M.Kay & his "pat" answer as to why they signed him - word for word - "He's a good athlete & a good person"! SAY WHAT!!?? A good athlete!!?? A good person!!?? We don't need nor want either; We need a right tackle, a safety, etc.
Mannnn, I PRAY Mark has the SEASON of his LIFE!!!

    Apologies for the rant.....!

Those who are saying this isn't about football are 100% wrong. This is all about football. Tebow immediately makes the Jets a better football team by bringing a completely new dimension to the offense. He is a Physical Freak of nature that plays football with an intensity and leadership that makes his teams play better. Those who think that we should have just come back from an 8-8 season and not done anything to address the weaknesses in the offense are simply nuts. We gave up a 4th rounder for a backup QB that is a proven winner who can immediately positively impact this football team.

It is absolutely hilarious to read the negative nelly dark siders hate on Tebow. The kid is a straight up football player and the fans are going to love him for his talent, grit and hard nosed style of Smash Mouth Football - something that this offense lacked all last season. I also think this is just the beginning of some other changes that are going to be coming to this team - and this team needs to be changed to improve and win football games and that is what this is about.

The definition of inasnity is doing the same thing you have always been doing and expect to get better result than you have been getting. Embrace Change and competition and bringing a whole new attitude to this offense. This offense used to have swagger and a smash mouth ground and pound identity - they lost that last season and this move is part of the putting together a resurgent offense. Sparano was the first piece, Tebow is the next piece - and they are not done. watch and learn dark siders.

    A-Salaam A-Laikum , Wa-A-Laikum Salaam brutha' Abdul but I truly hope you're RIGHT!!
I'm not of the ilk that shouts "THE SKY IS FALLING"; I've ALWAYS been an optimist when it comes to JET player-personnel moves giving questionable trades/drafts the benefit of the doubt, but NEVER have I felt so strongly opposed to a trade- since 1967 - as I feel now!!!!
Again, I hope that I'm TOTALLY WRONG!!! I HOPE Te-blow is a positive addition to the Jet offense but right now, I AIN'T FEELIN' THIS!!! It's a slap @ Mark, a foot-in-the-@ss to Stanton & a F.U. to us fans who wanted Jet FO to focus on upgrades @ key def/off positions!

Again, I hope you're right dude!

    Disagree 100% Johnny D...

Gholston was a player that was considered a 1st round pick for years - he didn't come out of the blue like Dewayne Robertson AND the jets didn't waste 2 picks on VG like Dewayne Robertson...That draft wasn't like this years draft - that draft turned out to be very meh and there really was no concensus at the top.

I didn't want Gholston but, I can see the draw and his coach stood by him 100%.
A lot of people did. A lot of people HERE did... It wasn't a revolt on draft day like HTF is this guy?????? It was the Jets picking a guy on everyones Draft list for 1st half of the draft - IT HAPPENS.

    BUT TEBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trading for Tebow is bigger than measuring Salary or Draft pick.

trading for Tebow is a fundamental decision that stamps this Front office as complete money hungry, ticket selling Bozos and FOOTBALL Nincompoops....

I don't even care about A) The locker room (which was an overblown anyway) or B) The Sanchez effect (which again is overblown - how much more pressure do you need than no making it in the NFL?)......

THOSE AREN"T THE ARGUMENTS AT ALL......

The Argument is that this Front office is making decisions based on more than what wins games - The argument is that EVERY resource should be put towards filling holes like OL, WR, RB, S, OLB and giving the Players that are here EVERY thing they need to succeed...

The Argument is that an NFL QB will have much less opportunity to succeed when he is pulled from games, and mgt shows lack of trust in him by bringing in a clown show Super Sub Offense to suppliment him after just showing mock support...

THE ARGUMENT IS WAYYYYYYYYYY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU THINK THE ARGUMENT IS!!!!!!!!

ITS ABOUT FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL DECISIONS AND DEVELOPING A QB....

hey they picked Sanchez, i wouldn't have... But, when you go all in on a young inexperienced QB who has never seen snow YOU GIVE HIM CONSISTENT WEAPONS to grow with every year- You make sure his OL gives him time and you give him a top 5 run game - The Jets gave Sanchez NONE of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So THE ARGUMENT - is a front office that Whishy Washied Sanchez career into the ground - QB that probably shouldn't have been picked so early and traded up for but, then compounded by not building around him properly and NOW - Further compounded by Bringing in Side Show Tim after telling him the offense would be his and would be stripped of Schottenhiemer BS - It was finally time for Sanchez to work a real offense - not some hybrid BS.. a real ground and pound, Play Action, smash mouth JETS FOOTBALL offense....

    And now.....

    this.

    Uggggh.

IMO The Sanchez Pick<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Gholston Pick

Sanchez was a TRADE up and now you extended his deal AND cut his legs out.

DONE with Tanny DONE with Rex DONE with Woody...

IMO, this is worse than Kotite - at least with Kotite you kinda knew it would be over soon - THIS????? This freak show - this might last a little while.
