We agree then. I think it can be successful if Tebow is used as a wildcat/rb/change of pace back. I just don't think we can abandon Sanchez. That would be the wrong move.
And if the reasoning for this move was to improve the Wildcat then why not use a late round draft pick on Russell Wilson who CAN throw the football?
Kay asked Tanny why they werent interested in Manning but they moved "heaven and earth" to get Tebow. What a fuckin jerk off
To be fair, Russell Wilson also never beat the Steelers in the playoffs. Tebow ran for 600+ yards last year averaging over 5 yards per carry. Why don't we just sign Pat White then? Obviously, PSL's have something to do with this, but it's not like Tebow is useless. And yeah, jonnyd, a 4th and a 6th is heaven and earth apparently to Michael Kay.
i am sure tanny tried to move heaven n earth for peyton as well but nothing came out in the press b/c manning probably flat out declined tanny
Same guy who wrote the article about Mark Sanchez being done and the Jets need to get rid of him? Just checking. If I ever listened to a word Stephen A. says regarding football it would be a first.
He didn't even answer the question. He yammered on about "fair value." Seemingly, he'd rather trade draft picks for Tebow than pay Manning.
Also, Russell Wilson on the field running 8 plays a game is just going to provide 8 television shots a game of Nacho pouting on the sidelines. If an entire off-season of Tebow up his ass gets Mark in high gear, then the 8 plays a game he's sitting on the sidelines shouldn't matter to him. If it doesn't, then we have bigger problems than Tebow. I'm done coddling Nacho. We'll have a viable package ala Brad Smith that we were missing last year, and a viable backup as opposed to our 85 year old option from last year. That should be a compliment to Sanchez, not a detriment.
I love how people make it sound like Manning was going to come here if the $$ was right...he was never coming here. That would have been a brilliant move. Everyone so concerned about hurting Sanchez's feelings and all...yeah let's get it out there that we're after Peyton and going all in...only to get snubbed at the end....yep, brilliant. they handled that the best way they could, asked if he ws interested, he said no, and they moved on.
What's really interesting is that FootballOutsiders had Tebow as one of the worst rushing Qb's last year, well below Sanchez. They gave him 668 yards rushing as a QB which they evaluated to be as effective as 368 yards using their formula for evaluating such things.
I am not surprised by that. It was obvious to me those wins were mostly due to much improved play by Denver's D.
One has nothing to do w/ the other, it is a silly question. We were never seriously interested, we looked into it like a smart team should but unless he was coming here really cheap it was never happening. It did on that last drive.
