We have to pay them $5 million which they were unaware of. Would you pay Denver for a 4th, 6th, and $5 million for a wildcat QB when this team has so many holes to fill?

The fault of this lies at the feet of the Jets GM, not the Broncos. Jets should have read the contract before announcing the deal

No of course not really. I'm overreacting here clearly, but it really puts Tanny in a bad light if he missed the contract that other teams saw. Thats why as I stated, I am hoping the Jets rushed into this (overpaying with multiple picks and missing details) because it was Woody wanting to create news not Tanny thinking this is a smart move. Football wise it makes sense, the media circus that comes with it, no thanks.

broncos were not up front with the clause

jets should walk away or the broncos should be forced to take bart scott back to account for the money

To me either way the jets will be looked down upon. If the trade goes through for getting tebow and if it doesn't than for not looking at a players contract before agreeing. I could be wrong but everything I read has blame placed on jets.

But that money gets subtracted from what we would have had to pay Tebow..it was an advance, he already got paid the money. The only problem is if it has cap ramifications.

Any explanation on the $5 million? Would any of that impact the cap this year? I can't find any details on the situation

I don't think it effects the cap.

You guys realize that the 5M will be counted against the cap...

That is a big hit for a wildcat QB...

This means we will be paying 6.7 mil against the cap for Tim Tebow

There's no way the $5 million counts against the cap. It's not even being payed to a player on the team.

Our GM is a CPA, not a scout, not a personnel guy, etc etc. the fact that he didn't read the contract is beyond belief. You would think that would be the one area where he would have a leg up on the competition.

its money advanced from the next 3 years of the contract. so basically that money was subtracted from the '13, '14, and '15 annual salary

Fake tebow account. Both humorous and tasteless.

To be quite honest, I am a little confused why my Lord and Saviour is sending me to the Jets. Jets piloted by NY Jews were what caused 9/11.
