because maybe they only find him of interest if it also allows them to unload Tebow. that's how many trades happen in sports -- acquiring one player is only worth it if it allows the team to jettison another. there is nothing unique about this situation.
Agreed, except most teams use more than 1 WR. We had Plax who was useless as a #2, Kerley who was often injured, and then Pat Turner who is a career nobody. So would you rather have Holmes (who was a malcontent last year), or the Broncos entire receiving core which is quite talented? For last season alone, I would of chosen their receivers, without question
yep They need to get rid of Tebow, we need to get rid of Scott. Plus nobody would give up a draft pick for Scott, it would be stupid. But if youre going to get rid of a player you dont want, get Scott, AND get a draft pick. Its hard to complain too much about that. Fact is they got Peyton , so they want to win NOW. And they also want to get rid of Tebow ASAP to make things rosier in Peyton Land
I think tebow and either a rb/olinemen for scott and a draft pick maybe 4-5 rounder and hunter lol Solves both teams issues
I know this was posted WAY far ago but from what I can find hes on the hook for around 1.9million in salary next year Scott has around 4.2 million in salary + 1.5million in bonus (which I think were on the hook for) So we would only save around 2.5million in cap space this year Still enough to get us a FA MLB, but its sure not 6million either.
http://broncotalk.net/2012/01/28836/broncos-blog/on-tim-tebows-completion-percentage/ When his receivers drop passes, it doesn’t help. *According to Pro Football Focus, Broncos receivers Demaryius Thomas (13.51%) and Eric Decker (16.98%) owned the 77th and 84th-best drop rates of*catch-able*passes last season. *Many of Tebow’s attempts weren’t pretty, but there were various times last*season*when one of his receivers dropped a very*catch-able*pass. http://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...e-2011-which-receivers-are-dropping-the-ball/ The fact is tebow's poor completion rate was made worse by his WRs who were among the worst in dropped passes in the league. I realize this is a religious was for most of you so I apologize for using facts rather than repeating the same old bullshit generalizations.
Yeah, thats very true... Im just not sure that getting rid of Scott is worth the frenzy that Tebow would indirectly bring with him
I dont know if youre suggesting I like Tebow, because I dont... at all. But let me know at the end of this season how bad you think Decker and Thomas are when they dont have the WORST starting QB in the nfl throwing to them Oh and Thomas had a massive ... 5 drops !!!!!!
I think a lot of it has to do with the idea of trading Scott. If the Jets trade for Tebow and DONT give up Scott than its 100% full fledged fucking retarded. Eats up 2 million in cap space, and doesnt provide any worthwhile benefit whatsoever. If it gets rid of our malcontent MLB, and frees up 2.5million in cap space. Then its a decent enough move, because of getting rid of Scott not trading for Tebow.
