He wouldn't be brought here to compete with Sanchez..we have already named our backup QB (who also won't compete)..competition went out the window when they gave him that ridiculous extension..Tebow woucd be brought in to be a niche player.
This. Times a million. This is exactly why they won't trade for him. They just signed Sanchez to a brand spankin' new contract. The coaches and front office don't want to be in the situation where sanchez has a bad first half/first game, and the crowd is cheering for Tebow to be put in, and pressure builds over several weeks to start Tebow, but they don't want to because they just gave Marky a bunch of fucking money. If Jets get Tebow, it would be the most shocking move I will have ever seen in sports
Anyone know how the Broncos MLB situation looks ? Any chance they CANT WAIT for us to offer them bart scott?
Jeremy Kerley - 5th round - expected to be the Jets slot WR in 2012 Matt Slauson - 6th round - expected to be the Jets LG in 2012 John Conner - 5th round - expected to be the Jets starting FB in 2012 Not many but those are 3 guys who will see a lot of playing time in 2012.
This. I completely agree. Say what you want about Tebow, but his teammates love him and he is a leader. Sanchez could become motivated by it, as well.
It is not necessary. If Sanchez is self motivated, then he can have Drew Stanton, Tim Tebow or Peyton Manning behind him and it won't make him play any better or worse.
The fact of the matter is, although this move might not hurt us and add a dimension to the team that we may not have (it would do that for most teams), it would do very little to help us. In other words - why?
What's your evidence that it would do very little to help us? Did Brad Smith do very little to help us?
2011: 5th, Jeremy Kerley - Slot guy 2010: 5th, John Conner - Starter 2009: 6th, Matt Slauson - Starter 2007: 7th, Chansi Stuckey - Was a starter for us, used to trade for Edwards 2006: 6th, Drew Coleman - Was a role player/Dime back We completely whiffed on 6 guys. 2011: Scotty McKnight, 7th 2008: Erik Ainge, 5th, Marcus Henry 6th, Nate Garner 7th 2007: Jacob Bender, 6th 2006: Titus Adams, 7th Up in the air on McElroy in 2011 as a 7th. But really, that's beside the point. I was suggesting that maybe we were running the price up for a divisional rival, so it would be them paying the price - not us.
Cromartie knows he's gonna be read the gospel for having a Shawn Kemp like record with the ladies and children. This has disaster written all over it.
Funny thing is I think he actually quotes Bible verses and other silly Jesus related things on his twitter.
I get this and understand the logic behind it, but what if Sanchez has one bad game? Can you imagine the media circus that would ensue? It would be horrific. This team can't stand another sideshow.
You say that as though without Tebow folks would go easy on Mark. If he struggles people are going to go nuts whether Tim Tebow is a Jet or not. He's essentially a better version of what Brad Smith was in our offense. I like it very much.
4 career tackles... Please oh please have Scott involed in any tebow trade. Scott and a 6th for tebow !
This is why Tebow cannot come here. Sanchez is not a top level QB yet, so at least a few bad games are to be expected. The media frenzy between Tebow lovers and anti-Sanchez fans would be astronomical.
That would actually make some sense if they could get his salary off the books. Pickup some cap space and add a unique offensive weapon that our OC will be creative with. I can maybe possibly after a couple six drinks buy into that.
