I don't think they had any interest in Wallace, he'd cost so much in money and picks, and it makes so much more sense for them to go get Brandon Lloyd, cheaper, unrestricted, tons of success in McDaniels' system, and Lloyd has talked about how much he loved playing for him both in DEN and STL (plus the guy saved his career) I'd bet if the money is anywhere near close he ends up in NE. Williams would be a great fit, but I'm not sure the Patriots will spend the kind of money it takes after getting burned on Adalius Thomas.
FA Period: Official Signings/Transactions Figured this deserved it's own thread now that it's official. Off to the races... First big move: Report: Bears acquire WR Marshall from Dolphins by Gene Chamberlain, CBSSports.com WR Brandon Marshall has been reunited with QB Jay Cutler, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. The Bears have dealt two third-round draft picks to Miami for Marshall. The two players have talked of playing together repeatedly since Cutler came to the Bears in 2009.
Pierre Garcon to Washington per his twitter: "I wanted you all to hear it from me 1st before u saw it on the news... I will be signing with the Washington."
Per Stephen Holder (Bucs beat writer) and Jason LaCanfora: Sources saying Vincent Jackson to Bucs close to done deal. Awaiting more confirmation Bucs putting the full-court press on Vincent Jackson to the point where some other interested teams turning to alternatives
Thought I'd use this thread, that I thought was a good idea, seeing as lots of the FA moves really don't deserve their own thread IMO. Manning and Flynn maybe, but Fanace, Gonzalez, Westerman, Hillis, Henne.... not so much. Pats signed TE Daniel Fells Great blocking TE, with some pass catching potential. I think this means Hernandez plays more outside and in the slot. If Gonzalez is heathy, it could also mean the Pats are preparing for life after Wes Welker after this year.
The Philadelphia Eagles made a big move to bolster the middle of their defense, acquiring two-time Pro Bowl linebacker DeMeco Ryans from the Houston Texans for a fourth-round draft pick in 2012. The Eagles and Texans also announced Tuesday they were swapping third-round choices in 2012. The Eagles now have the 89th pick overall, while the Texans have the 77th pick. Per ESPN
absolutely. It's a great move for Philly, provided he's healthy. I guess they felt more comfortable with a known quantity in Ryans than the unknown in Kuechly
Have the jets brought in anyone with a pulse,,,,,,,is anyone scheduled to visit anytime in the not so distant future,,,,,,,or am I to understand that Tebow solves all our glaring needs
Tannenbaum said the Jets are done in FA when he was on the Tebow call Thursday night. Done and still have 9 million left..this must be the new way they are going to operate.
1) I don't believe Tanny said that. Link? 2) Even if he did why would you believe a word he said, Mr. Stanton?
