Honestly, I want Richardson with our 1st, because I personally believe he's the next AP for various reasons, but I also think LaMichael James would be a steal in the 2nd and could be a good backup, and eventually starter for our team. Not sure what more he has to do on the field to get respect...1800 yards, 7.3 average, 18 TDs, and 200 receiving yards and a TD.
I see him as a great fit for what Shanahan does with the running game. For a more power based running offense not so much. He's be more of a nice third down option for us, but we are not taking that type of back in the 2nd or 3rd where he would most likely land.
I think he is 3rd on my list behind TRich and Martin but would not mind at all if we got him. I think he is a perfect compliment to Greene cause he is so damn fast. He also could help us on ST. I dont know if he did in college but Westy could help him maybe.
That comes across as you painting Stewart as a bust. He is not. He's had a 1000-yard rushing season mostly as a backup. The Carolina RB situation has been messed up for years now. Stewart or DeAngelo Williams should have been traded after the 2009 season. It is nice to have two starting-quality backs, but considering the holes on the Carolina roster they really should have traded one of those guys already.
If Doug Martin is still there at 47 I would take him in a second. He will be a special player in the league. I can't post videos yet but I found a nice highlight vid of him. Just go to YouTube and search "Doug Martin Career Highlights"
I think Doug Martin is my top back. He's got size, and his feet seem a lot less heavy than Richardson's, and he seems like a pretty solid pass catcher. I also like Turbin. James is interesting. Certainly worth a look. I like the idea of having a guy who could get lost behind the line a la Sproles, and his presence on draws and screens might take pressure off Sanchez. -X-
