Do we have to have a drama filled thread every time a so-so player leaves the team? Its not like its Nick Mangold walking about the building.

FWIW, I liked him. One of the more unsung players on ST

    He's dead to me now.

Whats more revealing to me is that the Patriots have all these draft picks every year and they still have to use the FA to sign special teams players and depth. I'm sure its been done before but I'd love to see the amount of these draft picks they release every year.

The pats signs jets players for the sake of it. They do this every year.

What difference does it make if you use FA or the draft to build your 53-man roster?

draft is usually cheaper and more chance of finding a diamond in the rough (like tom brady) whereas with FAs you pretty much know what you are getting (though thereis always the chance of a late bloomer)

Unless you nab one of the top 2 or 3 players in available, FA is nothing more than a 1 or 2 year stop gap measue. That's why you see so many 1 and 2 year contracts.

true, but its still cheaper and better to stock your roster with draft picks than have to rely on the FA market (and this is not to crow and say the Jets are great at this as I think our drafting after the 1st round is pretty suspect).

You've hit the nail on the head. They also let ex-Jets play just to stick it to the Jets. They let Danny Woodhead run the ball 7 times, and completed 4 passes to him in the Superbowl. If they had let Green-Ellis play more they probably would have won. We'll never know.

Nothing to see here. He was a good gunner, but I feel like I can say that about anyone under Westhoff just like everyone is a good returner under him. We could have used the depth in the secondary, but oh well.

Saw this on his Twitter. The question now is whether to drop him on there. I dropped Weatherford last year, got sick of him, that turned out to be a good move.
