I think we should take a look at this guy in the 3rd round. He's fast, is a great athlete, and has solid hands. He never had a real QB throwing him the ball so his numbers aren't what you'd expect from an explosive WR, but I have watched Illinois on many occasions and this guy is talented. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/a.j.-jenkins?id=2532876 Round 1: OLB/S Round 2: OLB/S Round 3: WR (Jenkins)
I have him more around a round 4-5 using some of the lists on Walter football and NFL draft scout. What sources are you finding him that high?
yes it does. I did a 'perform mock draft' option. The Jets drafted Barron at 16, and promptly drafted 4 RB's and 2 CB's with the other 6 picks. There is no way that makes any sense in any realm of sanity ever.
I love AJ Jenkins, he's going to be a quality receiver for somebody. Pretty good size, great speed both downfield and in short areas, changes direction on a dime, and flashes some great hands/body control. I think he can easily have a Lav Coles type career, but could just as easily be even better. Well worth a 3rd rounder to me, but based on the depth of WRs 4/5 is possible (and GREAT value).
