Not big news I know but I'm pissed. I liked the way he contributed, especially on STs where he was excellent... I think we'll miss him and did a stupid thing in not re-signing him.

    Fuck the Pats...

They must have signed about 8 new players so far..not sure how good any of them will be but they aren't sitting still.

Much as I hate the Pats I don't really think their huge number of low risk moves compares to the tens of millions the Eagles spent last year.

Aso, Jenkins, Babin, Steve Smith, Ronnie Brown are a bit higher profile than
Lloyd, Gonzalez, Stallworth, Connely, Fells, and a few other JAGs

hopefully they get as much out of them as they did Ihedigbo, Ellis, and Woodhead. They can keep signing our trash maybe one of them turns into the only good defensive player they have. #f*ckBelichick

He was always the first one down on punt team...

Shame to see Cole go, was a good STer.

That said we've seen this before, Wallace Wright was seen as a 'key' STer back when he went to the Panthers a few years ago. Brad Smith (obviously), all the other returners.

While our punting has dreadful Westhoff has ALWAYS gotten the most out of our KR/PR coverage as well as returners. He'll find some new guy ('specially with the rumors that he might have a pick late in the draft with all those potetial comp picks)

Ihedigbo and woodhead are not trash players and Ellis was just past his prime. I agree f- the pats and Belicheat , but we keep letting potential role players and depth leave this team or do not retain them.....Bad decisions.

How can anyone call Marquice Cole trash? He was a phenomenal gunner for us on special teams. He also arguably saved our season by breaking up that final pass vs the Steelers late in the 2010 campaign..

    M. Cole was a good ST-player, but nothing more. Westhoff will find another guy for his role; my guess would be Ellis Lankster and/or Julian Posey.

Marquice Cole is better than you think. He was an intelligent guy who was always standing on the sideline next to Rex. When he got playing time in nickel/dime packages he always held his own.

Now that he is going to a first rate organization I think his game will blossom.

Dime a dozen type player. Westhoff can groom another special teams kid without a problem. Don't lose any sleep over this one.

I agree. Plus it's not always THAT easy to find good ST players...
