The Community actors were at an event Paleyfest speaking about certain topics and future episodes. Gillian Jacobs who plays Britta seems as awkward as Britta in real life. The event did not have Donald Glover (Troy) and Chevy Chase (Pierce). Jim Rash (The Dean) showed up with his Emmy. Before the event was streamed live, they showed the audience the latest episode that is going to air March 15th. WARNING: there are tiny spoilers that I don't even remember to be honest, but I don't want anyone to not expect them discussing future episodes. Forgot to bump this on March 15th when they came back. Their ratings were amazing for the comeback, and out performed American Idol in a key demographic. All the social media, commercials, and actors pushing it on talk shows must have helped. I was disappointed with the returning episode... Their use of animation and awkward pauses made the show seem like it was produced differently for its return. Despite that, Community is still awesome and my favorite show on TV. As to why NBC doesn't throw 30 Rock into that blackhole that is Thursday Nights at 8 PM baffles me.
I think they did things you see from regular sitcoms to go along with the Troy and Abed being normal. They became "normal" this episode just like Troy and Abed. I think Troy had the comment "yeah be normal when your having a wedding in a college library" and Abed had some sort of quote that "this is conceptual on many levels, but it works."
Not even then... I found the troy and abed normalcy to be a part of their usual meta-obsession (which I enjoy). I was puzzled by two scenes in particular: When they put the cartoon heart on Jeff. The cut scenes. "Literally two minutes later..."
I think you are going to say the "two minutes later". "one minute later" parts. I think with the cartoon heart and those screens Harmon decided this was going to be a "normal" sitcom episode and they played on it especially since there was a wedding which is very typical sitcom. I agree it was unexpected and I realized why it can be hit or miss. I enjoyed it, but I could definitely see why it threw off the regular fans of the show. Off topic to the episode, but I love how much the actors/actresses communicate with the fans on twitter/reddit. Dan Harmon answered a random question on reddit and continued to answer questions on theories one day. Gillian just did an AMA and they all use twitter to answer fans questions, retweet stuff, and thank the fans for the ratings/support.
I'm just hoping it's not a regular thing. The last thing I want out of Community is for them to say "hey guys, we brought the show back on the air and it's BETTER THAN EVER!"
Me either. He looks so much younger than his actual age even out of character. Here is Joel Mchale (Jeff Winger) plugging the show on Conan with no shame,
This is on again today at 8. Don't forget to watch so the rating stay high and it can get a 4th season!
