im going to go with good feelings. Nelson will accept the offer they just want to announce it in one shot with landry's acceptance.

This way it sounds like we made a BIG Typical tanny splash.

I'm at peace with his decision, so long as he decided to come here.

Fully agree that he'd be a retard to not come complete this defense though.

For what its worth, Per Rotoworld:

The Bengals are "firmly in the running" to re-sign free agent FS Reggie Nelson.
Nelson is visiting the Jets this weekend, but the Bengals are apparently making an honest attempt to re-sign him after letting a number of other veteran in-house free agents get away. The Bengals would be hard pressed to find a 2012 upgrade on Nelson in free agency or the draft. Mar. 18 - 12:02 pm et

No idea what point you are trying to make. My point is if you want to play for a team (as Lloyd did) you take the offer when they make it, even if it is below market value. He did. I am sure whatever we offered Nelson was in line with everybody else and he still hasn't made a decision. In my mind that doesn't bode well for the Jets.

Nothing like being used for leverage, and if anyone thinks Landry is going to fix our safety problem, you may be sadly mistaking.

This was my thought when I heard about the mystery "3rd team". Sounds way too much like the Aso deal from last year, only this year the player knew we'd fall for the bait of being the leverage team because it was so public last year with Aso.

how is that asinine and igorant? Aso didnt sign with us simply because he would rather be on a team with Michael Vick over Mark Sanchez I guarentee it. Our offense hasnt ever got the job done and many people know this. free agents included.

If you truly believe that everything is Sanchez' fault and you are going to put the blame for everything on him, find another team or better yet another sport to follow because this sport is not for you. It is far too complicated for you.

Just watch...Nelson will sign with Cinci and Landry with NE who is actually improving their team even though they started free agency with the same cap space as we did..oh, I forgot, we signed our kicker.

Why did Mario Williams sign with Buffalo then? Because the Bills have a star studded offense?

Did I say everything was Sanchez fault? I was just stating a fact that free agents are turned off by the Jets because of the lack of offense, and that starts with the QB. Just stop trying to argue because its just way too complicated for you.

And the negativity continues... Yeah, someone doesn't want to play on the D because of Sanchez. Get outta here with that. He'd be crazy to turn down a secondary that talented.

its hard to win games with a bad offense. Guys arent going to want to play on a team where the defense has to do all of the work. I think we have a shot at getting Nelson but it could end up being just as disappointed as last year

your argument makes no sense... the jets were coming off back to back afccg seasons and everyone expected them to be right back there again and the offense to be much improved as well as sanchez. people go to places for their own reasons and i doubt anyone knows exactly why besides the FA himself

This thread is about picking up a safety. How that turns into a Sanchez bashing thread is beyond me. Can't we keep that nonsense out of just ONE thread. Please? There was much more wrong with our offense than just Sanchez. Support our QB or follow another team. He's not going anywhere.

Well that was last season. New OC, new philosophy, and hopefully newer talent. Reggie would be foolish to turn us down down based off last year's offensive results.
