They have one of the strongest core defensive units in the league...maybe the strongest by simply adding Nelson and whatever they can reasonably expect to add through the draft. Because you're not a capitalist pig that is going to go live in bumfuck for 5 years because of an extra million dollars when you'd already be making many of them in New York. Because it's right. I've come to peace with whatever his decision is. Fact remains, a safety in his prime like himself would be a fool to turn down the opportunity to play in Rex Ryan's scheme, beside a potential all time corner duo, IN New York metro. If the Jets fail on Nelson they'll move on to Landry & perhaps take the Nelson money to pursuade Jameel Mclain. That way they're filling another hole. One safety I noticed that is still a UFA is Tyrell Johnson from Minny. He was a highly regarded player in his draft year & went high 2nd. I haven't seen him play much, but whats the scoop?
