Dude your completley overreacting about nothing, and saying absurd things like its true. "i heard woody didnt want to sign OL guys because hes being a baby about psl's" Thats an pretty ridiculous accusation.
Richardson retired, he was old. What do you want us to do NEVER replace older players? Do you want us to let Scott and Pace be our starters until theyre 40 ? Ellis was treated awful because we didnt want to pay him 4m to be a backup? And Cotch left cuz he wanted to be the #2, we didnt see him as one. But I guess if you heard otherwise, you and incarated bob know better
How come no-one seems ot be even mentioning Leonhard in terms of playing safety for the Jets next season. Has there been any reported contact?
Just someone with knowledge of it... That Tannenbaum approached Woody Johnson, knowing they had no OL depth early in the season and Woody said he wasn't putting another nickel in the team till the PSL's were sold.
Back to back season ending injuries never bodes well, esp for 30+ year old players. And its compounded by the fact that he is typically smaller/slower/whiter than your average safety
Well seeing as he didn't want to play 2nd fiddle to the best CB in the league because he thinks he is the best.
nelson is deciding b/w a mystery team(never a good sign), his former team, and the jets. i'd put the odds at 60% mystery team/30% bengals/10% jets
Somebody needs to tell the GREAT CB play there other team best WR they just don't stay on one said of the field.
Yeah, I know... But you know. All I know is that I said Cotchery could get cut cause he was making too much money,,, got jumped about it,, then he ended up asking out cause he saw it coming... Then I said Scott would have been cut if he didn't have a guaranteed deal and if he wasn't one of Rex's guys,,, got jumped,, now they'd give him away for nothing if someone would take him.... How long did I say Scott sucked for? People posting that I don't know what i'm talking about, how he does all these other things.. NOW IT'S COME OUT THAT HE SUCKS and they want no part of him and all those people are in hiding... Yeah, I know.
Ellis was done, showed that with the Pats. At what point are the Jets to remain loyal especially if they think a player is done? Are you seriously bringing up Weatherford? The guy played terribly in the playoffs and wasn' t wanted back. As for Cotch they actually did him a favor by cutting him, he was able to sign with whoever he wanted. Cotch should never have been let go but he didn't want to be #3 behind plax and santonio.
Yeah, I know, Jets did everything right. I know. And for the record, I think Nelson and Landry are both signing with the Jets.
All I know is Weatherford got franchised by the World Champions after the Jets treated him like crap... Smug Westhoff got his on that one.
He got the last laugh, but there were not too many people he clamoring for us to resign him last year.
Are you serious??? Richardson was 40 years old and we had a replacement on the roster who was 15 years younger and much much cheaper. That's how it works in the NFL - older slower more expensive players get replaced by faster, stronger, cheaper younger players. Woody was not able to play on his knee any longer. Period. I heard him admit that on the radio before last season. Ellis wanted the Jets to over pay for past performance. Every Jets fan with eyes saw that Ellis was done or almost done last year. The Jets should pay him $4 million because he had a good playoff game and a long career with the team???? Think about what you are saying!!! Please explain how letting Ellis go to the Pats for that absurd amount of money was not a good deal??? Do you think Ellis will ever play in the NFL again? I don't. He should not have been in the league last year. If Richardson and Woody could still play, they would have been on other teams also. Cotchery left because he did not like his role with the team. He saw the handwriting on the wall with Burress coming and Kerley being drafted and did not want to be a #3 with a rookie breathing down his neck. And what exactly did he do to prove the Jets wrong last year? Miss 3/4 of the season with an injury? Weatherford played for two years with the Jets and shit to bed both years in the playoffs. In 2009 Feely had to punt for a game and in the other games he was terrible so the Jets let him go. In retrospect, that looks like a bad football decision, but it was not disrespectful. If teams get sentimental with regard to personnel, they overpay and end up in salary cap hell and stinking pretty soon. There are 31 other teams competing for the services of these players. The players you named, other then Weatherford, had seasons that justified the Jets decision or could not even get another team to offer them a contract to continue playing.
I was talking about how the GM's lie to the players. Just like we all know if the Jets had a good chance at signing Manning we will still be trying to get him.
