I hope we sign ONE of them----if we get both--THATS fine also---we have 2 safeties on this team right now and one is Eric Smith UGH! If they somehow manage to sign both--then we can hope that Jimmy is healed and comes back cheap and at least our secondary on paper IS BETTER than last year with the depth alone let alone talent.
It is also of interest to note, that a benglas blog stated that after Jacksonville switched him to SS he began to struggle. He is more of a natural FS, so when he was given that position with the Bengals he naturally did much better. His decline with the Jaguars was thus most likely attributed to the position change. This guy has great potential for Eric Smiths position in our scheme. Funny because smith is more of a strong safety to begin with.
I'd say somewhere around 4 or 5 because they are going to be in the building at the same time (most likely). If they are both signed, then it will probably be at the same time. I really hope this gets done.
Just tweeted at Manish and he DM'ed me that Landry is at the Patriots facilities for most of the day today. Further news pending.
This! Nelson really has not only improved in coverage over the last year(s) - he would be a perfect fit four our D# if he is allowed to play his best or rather natural posiiton (FS and not SS). And, like Brunell's Debt already said: This two S combined would be a dream come true.
I see Gerald Alexander too but I have no idea if these guys ever played a down so as far as I can tell we need to sign two safeties at least.
I think I remember saying to myself "Oh hey that's Tracy Wilson before some play. Then he got beat and gave up a pretty big play. Then I didn't notice him again. Got my number on Gerald Alexander too though. I recognize the name and the signing but I'm not sure I've ever seen him on the field tbh.
So is Landry not even visiting today or what? Kinda disappointing that he's supposed to be visiting with Nelson, then find out he's spending the day with the douchebgs up north
