^^ I don't know what Braylon did to piss of Tanny & co. but I feel the same way. The Jets made a decision last year to pass on Braylon and I just don't see the FO going back on that decision. Edit: To the FO on this signing  I'm liking it, he's tough.
Might be a good fit for what they are trying to do. Looks like he isn't afraid to make catches over the middle so let's see what he's got. We need some speed and athleticism on this team and at a minimum he seems to have that. Can't hurt to have him in the mix. He will compete with a WR draftee unless it's Floyd.
Haha, so deluded. Schilens isn't here to be #4. He's been signed to start opposite Holmes and unless we get a receiver in the first round of the draft, he will.
He's here to compete for the # 2 wideout. The Jets still made add a veteran, not named Edwards, and make take a receiver very early in the draft. I think it's well worth it to take a flyer on this kid. He did play 15 games last year so maybe the injury bug is behind him.
Excellent post! You're on the correct path with the FO. Common sense is prevailing. This approach is needed.
he was actually injured last year too. i think he started the year with a knee injury and ended the year with a foot injury. the guy is brittle.
I dont see how its possible to complain. We got a young guy with potential for the vet minimum. If he pans out, we have our deep threat. If he gets hurt, we kick him to the curb for what amounts to a quarter in the NFL these days. great move
From a physical / talent standpoint he has the potential to be a solid #2.... the reality is that they can't count on that based on his injury history. If that's the real $#, then it's a good low risk / high reward for the JETS, as long as they're not putting all their eggs in his basket. and PLAX? seriously? fuck him.
Oh yeah, it's hard to be against a signing like that. Worse comes to worst he doesn't live up to potential and we don't lose much money. We could still sign Braylon as well.
T-REX the Season before it starts - cornering the market on has beens, never beens and bottom tier players - things are certainly looking up! For the guy who's been aggressive in targeting the guys he wants and getting them, apparently the Namdi face mush from last year has had a lasting effect - the FO seems to be scared, confused and flat out bewildered... I've been a supported of this staff, FO and the team even longer. I keep reading all the sunshine about how "there is a plan" & "we don't know what it is" & "we're not in the room" and we aren't front office personnel... Maybe I'm delusional, or uneducated - whatever... but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see the GAPING holes on the roster... the O-Line, OLB, Safety, WR, RB, Back-Up QB... to be sitting on your hands at this time really just doesn't make sense. At least make like your interested to drive up the price for your competitors - it's done to us... What happened to when you said we are going to get someone to push Sanchez - then you sign a guy who's better suited for pushing a broom. Better hope McElroy can make the jump from 3 to 2 soon. We signed a WR who "Has tools - but can't stay healthy" - that is a signing a team with the luxury of signing someone like that has, not a team with NO WR besides Holmes. I just don't get how it's gotten to this point.. Apparently the plan has been flawed the whole time - mostly because it seems the FO has been exposed for having NO PLAN... JMO... Really frustrated and venting...
