As much as I HATE all the "should we sign" threads, I have to ask the question.

I know he's going to command big money, but we're in desperate need of a pass rusher. On top of that, with all of the Jets inactivity in FA with o-lineman, I have a feeling we're going to be drafting 2 or 3 of them. Thoughts. Comments. Bitches. Complaints.

unfortunately, he will more than likely be far too expensive for the Jets

Maybin can't play OLB all 3 downs. If he does, we mine as well start planning for an early draft pick next year.

I like the idea of signing a RT and drafting multiple OLBs in the draft. I don't think we should sign a pass rusher, I'd rather see that money go towards safety, RT and maybe WR. Having a young pass rusher is very important.

    Thats why we signed BT.

BT cant rush the passer, Maybin cant play the run.

You combine them together, and you have a pretty decent OLB combo.

Plus well have at least one rookie, likely two since we let Westerman go.

I understand what you're saying, but I'd rather have 1 who can do both.

Id rather have Aaron Rodgers at QB.

Unfortunately its not going to happen.

After Mario Williams contract, Wimbley is going to get serious cash.

He might not get Williams money, but he could certainly top 10m + a season

this. There are alot of DE\OLBs in the draft. I would rather draft a guy. and with the rookie wage scale, he would be much much cheaper....

Melvin Ingram is the guy who I really REALLY want...... Quinton Coples is a beast too(poor man's Julius Peppers). I really think we should draft a DE in the 1st if one of these guys is available. I dont like Devito as our starter.

I know thats why he won't be on the team next year. And Pace was a solid player for us so it wasn't a bad deal. He just never made that jump from 7 or 8 sack guy to 10-12 sack guy.

THIS year, yeah. Next year? no. He's a goner next year unless he restructures *which I doubt.*

Same deal with Bart "Can't Wait" Scott. So that's good 15+M off the book after this year.

Pace has the large cap number because he originally had a large signing bonus that was pro rated. Last year he turned most of his salary into bonus that was pro rated again. Its not his salary thats so high but multiple pro rated bonus money. Even if the Jets cut him after the season, he will have a large dead cap hit next year.

Jets aren't expressing interest in OLB Kamerion Wimbley (just released by OAK), at this time, source says. #nyj
