The former Jets wide receiver, an unrestricted free agent after one season with the Steelers, said Wednesday that he'd consider a return to the Jets.

"Yeah, I'm open to it," Cotchery told ESPNNewYork.com. "I'm open to all possibilities. I don't close doors. I'm not that type of dude."

as much as I loved Cotchery while he was here, I don't think he's a fit for the Jets needs and the direction they're going.

We need a taller/faster receiver opposite Holmes to stretch the field. My personal bias is signing Braylon Edwards to a incentive-laden, 1-2 year contract and drafting Floyd if he's available. Edwards could be a great mentor for Floyd as they are very similar receivers.

Just one more reason to wonder what happened to Edwards. A week ago the Jets were supposedly interested and so was he..oh, I know..he probably wanted 10 million a year again. Now it's Chaz Noname and Cotchery who proved he was done last year in Pittsburgh.

Or, the Jets, like every other team, are waiting for him to be fully healthy before offering him a contract. He's coming off surgery and teams will want him to prove he's capable of playing a full season before tendering him a contract....

We resigned Turner a while ago. Holmes at this point is a #1 and Kerley is a natural #3. J-Co isn't a #2

I love the guy and his attitude but he just isnt a fit. We need a WR that can stretch the field, that can separate from CBs and that can provide youth and athleticism. Cotchery does not provide any of that. We need a #2, and thats just not who he is right not. He’s a #3 at best, and we have a younger, better option with Jeremy Kerley.

WTF is going on this offseason? I understand that they might have wanted a low key FA, but shit, this is like crawling into a hole and hibernating.

I would agree except we just offered Bryan Thomas a contract and he is light years farther removed from being healthy than Edwards is. He is only in his 5th month of an achilles tear.

We need a #1 WR. Holmes is good, but I don't think he is a true #1. Cotch was one of my guys, but at this point he is probably a #3.

Jerricho should never have been allowed to go. Please bring back my favorite Jet.

Doesn't fit the mold of a #2 WR, we'll miss ya Cotch, but you decided to leave

Love Cotchery but not sure if he's what we need at WR2. The lack of inquiry to Braylon speaks volumes though.

Braylon isn't a signing you make until like June. He's probably not healthy yet

Fair enough, I still hope it happens assuming he's healthy.

I think Kerley can become Jerricho Cotchery.

^^I can't believe I am saying this, but I agree with you.

Bring back the flight boys (your a pussy Holmes) Bring back the flight boys!

    no homo

For me, that was the greatest day as a Jets fan. '98 was awesome, but beating New England in New England when they crushed us weeks earlier. That was such a great game and Edwards td catch before halftime was clutch and all him. He fucking manhandled those corners.

I would love for JCo to come back, And honestly I can see the trio of Kerley Holmes and JCo working out really well in a run heavy offense with sparano. We would rarely see 3 wide sets and would all be fresh.

As much as he struggles with double coverage Holmes can still stretch the field if given the opportunity. With JCo being one of the best possession receivers sanchez has ever had it might give us the opportunity to see what Kerley can do as a #2 in 3 wide sets and allow JCo to stay fresh through the year while still getting his playing time.

I can't express how happy this move would make me, So long as he's willing to come on the cheap so we're not handcuffed if he declines.

the thing to remember is that this draft is hella deep at WR. I could def see the Jets drafting a young, flashy deep threat.
