in size i guess. but schilens is much faster.

if he's signed, i'm guessing he just takes over for turner as the 4 guy. turner becomes a special teams body, which is just fine by me.

maybe this is the year he stays healthy!

    i wouldn't bet on it though.. :(

the fa wr pool is pretty much dead after the first day.

ive posted in atleast two threads in the last 3 months that this would be an excellent pick up. Kid has all the upside you can ask for and he will come cheap. He has break away speed and great size. if he stays healthy at his age he could be a good productive wr for this team. I still think we need to bring in someone else to fill the no 2 spot even if he does sign.

Only he is injury-prone version of Patrick Turner, who is unimpressive to start.

The guy has 70 receptions in four years and we have a thread about him? It's so pathetic that they can't even spell his name right.

Has to be better than WFH though, no? Ah, he doesn't block - so call that a wash.

You have to wonder why they would even look at this guy if they really had any interest in Edwards at all.

It's always good to have options and know the price and features of those options.

  11. Big guy with downfield speed. He has the wing span and large frame jets are lacking in WR corps.Still very young w/ plenty of upside.Had a game w/ nearly 10 catches late last season w/ Oakland w/ Palmer throwing to him. Also, our new WR coach came from Oakland, so he's obviously very familar w/ his development.

The negatives?Despite his size, he's more of a body catcher & his route running is so-so. I see him as more of a #3-4 with upside than so the solid # 2 the Jets need.

There would be worse things then going into the draft with Holmes, Edwards, Schillens, Kerley and Turner on the roster.

I like this guy but he can't stay healthy. if healthy he can be a good WR in this league.

Every season is supposed to be his "breakout year", but then every season is spent in the rehab facility / doctors office.

Chaz Schilens has a #Jets connection that nobody is talking about. In college at San Diego State, his QB was Kevin O'Connell. #nyj

I have a connection to the Jets too. I've sat in and farted in Giants Stadium for over 20 years before they implemented PSLs and drove out the common rabble.

Can't wait for my contract offer!

that is interesting he ran a 4.24 40.. thats really fast for such a big dude, and speed is something we need desperately so maybe this is good. Raiders WRs have always been about speed so maybe thats why the Jets hired their WRs coach.

He runs a sub 4.4 forty time and has good size. With those attributes you have to wonder why he didn't get more playing time in Oakland. Not like their receivers are anything special where he sat behind them.
