Cromartie is good. Wilson is good and entering his 3rd season. Why we need so much talent at this position, when we have so many other holes in the D, I do not understand.

IMO we should use Cro as bait and find out what he is really worth in the league. Unless, without a shadow of doubt, this kills us on cap.

    Edit;

Braylon should definitely be a Jet and Holmes should have been in 9ers gear last year. "zero production Santonio" "El Capitan"

I'm sure the Patriots have nothing to do with it.

^ The Giants had no problem beating the Pats twice last year.

Stop the run and Brady has no outlet.

    Pass rush please.

Different philosophy, different coaches. The Giants were arguably a Brian Schottenheimer game plan away from missing the playoffs entirely. Not taking away anything at all from their accomplishments, but you can't simply mimic the latest team to succeed and expect to steal some of that success. The Jets tried that with Mangini and it failed miserably.

So playing within the context of our coaches and our system the cornerbacks are necessary because as Rex put it, bad cornerback play is the fastest way to lose a game.

With all of the kids I never knew Cromartie was such a smart guy. Maybe he had all those kids because he knew with his athletic gene the more he had the likelier it is for one to become a pro athlete

^^ I do agree with you. Especially, now since it seems like we are in the market, focused, on a safety. I guess our secondary is going to be dirty next year.

That said, we should not undervalue Wilson. He has showed strong promise last season and now it's year 3. He is going to emerge this year. He cannot be a nickle back forever. Cro, has a lot of value. We could pick up a nickle in the draft or through free agency.

    Edit:

also, imagine how dirty our secondary would be if we could get pressure on the qb. We desperately need pass rushers.

Cro knows what he is saying if only he knew not to have 11 kids with 9 wives in 4 different states.

Cro would trade the entire team for child support money and strippers.

I believe his job is to cover wide receivers.

So that is why everyone is down on him, he sucks at covering corners. Maybe he should take a paycut since he was only good at covering WRs last year.

The NFL is trending towards spread offenses. More 3 and 4 WR sets and faster TEs. More quality DBs are needed. Just ask Bart Scott.

We need 3 good CBs to run our scheme. If we had a passrush, maybe one would be expendable. We don't have a passrush.

And anyone who thinks Cromartie isn't a good CB hasn't been paying attention.

Anybody think Cro could play as a cover safety? With that athleticism and ball skills he would seemingly be awesome at it.

Just in case you're not a duplicate account trying to make me look foolish, I will inform you that the Jets were 2nd best in the league last season at defending #2 WRs: Cromartie's assignments.

Good question. We've had past posters love this forum so much that they had to make duplicates.
