Yeah Jerrico Cotchery is one of my favorite Jets of all time but he and Kerley are fighting for the same slot on the field and the Jets are much better off with Kerley developing there.

If Kerley had the goods to become the deep guy opposite Holmes, now that would be a whole different can of worms. I'd be really happy bringing Cotchery back if that was the case.

If you think Kerley can do that then go get Cotch. Otherwise bring back Braylon to stretch the field and leave Kerley in the slot.

Cotchery left on his own terms, I doubt he wants to return. I want him back, but I don't see it happening.

Isn't Farrior a Free Agent? Please get me Farrior.

Side note: this poster has no clue about cap. Only talent.

  4. I think acquisitions of both Cotchery & Schillens would give the Jets a pretty versatile group of WR's for Sanchez to work with.

One idea I recently read about that some front offices are starting to implement is building a WR corps with moving parts/skills that compliment one another. One of the models that is used is the starting 5 in Bball.

Consider this model not even including Keller as part of this group.

1/PG Holmes- A small quick slasher who comes up big in big moments.
2/SG Kerely- Quick in and out of his cuts, good after the catch w/ dependable hands
3/SF Cotchery- Decent size, physical, can make big catches in traffic and move the chains
4/PF Schillens- Big physical deep threat with the ability to make plays in traffic & stretch the field
5 Turner- Lengthy big man who is good in traffic and working the sidelines

That's a pretty diverse group that compliments eachother pretty well. Certainly no stars outside of Holmes..but alot of toughness and complimentary skillsets.

This would be an extremely questionable move. We need. tRUE #2. we already have a #3 with huge upside in Kerley. Cotch would be #4 here at best. We still need a WR that can stretch the field.

I would just hate this signing too. Cotch was great for us but this would just be bringing in a worse option at #3 that we already have covered. We need a real 1 or 2 and nothing else.

Cotch would add leadership, work ethic and toughness but we would still lack a deep threat. We already have a slot WR in Kerley. Besides adding depth on min contract it does not give us much.

I would welcome him back, he and Sanchez had a nice re-pore together, he made some key catches for us.

He doesn't have a role with the team, we need someone to stretch the field, not another possession WR

^We need Braylon or someone who can stretch the field.

    I wish Cotch was younger.

We also need a production receiver who holds onto the football. We need someone who can have a 10 catch game, who can have a 100yd game, who can block, who leaves it on the field, who plays balls to the wall. We need Chrebet type player or young cotchery type player.

A player who is not above the team, a player who sticks his neck out for his fellow teammates on and off the field.

Signing JCO would most likely mean a WR in RD.1 or 2. This team desperately need speed and JCO does not have that.

I'm torn. I would love to have him back (if he would come back) and would even be willing to have him split the # 2 receiver spot with a receiver we draft that can stretch the field. He's only 29 years old so for a receiver he still has some good years left. Plus he is a full year removed from his surgery so he will be in better physical shape this year.

Him , Holmes, and Kerley though are not exactly the most dynamic receiving core.

One of my all time favorite JETS! Now bring Edwards back and lets kick this offense into high gear.
I like the fact of bringing in guys Sanchez has familiarity with.

That wouldn't even be the worst in our division let alone the worst in the league BY FAR. Why are people being so dramatic today?

Lets not forget that we had Coles and Moss as our #1 and 2, I think the Jets might as a worse case scenerion do a Holmes/ Kerley/ Cotchery. I do think we are getting a tall wr that can stretch the field. The Jets are gonna try to bring Braylon and Jerricho... That would be crazy

I say Cotchery would be great for Kerley and Holmes anyhow. We cant discount leadership on the WR level and offense level in general.

I don't see the point in bringing in Cotchery again. He isn't the explosive, deep threat that we need as a number 2 and Kerley is clearly our future slot receiver for years to come.
