With the Redskins signing 2 WR and looking at Eddie Royal also. It looking like he will be cut. What do u guys think about bring him back?
I think he's gonna be 33 and is on the decline. I don't see a point if we get Edwards, but if Braylon is still iffy with his injures it might not be a bad alternative.
Per Manish Mehta: Looking to bolster their WR corps... the Jets have expressed interest in Jerricho Cotchery, per source. #nfl If we're going to get an old receiver back please let it be this one.
Hey don't get me wrong I'd rather we not get ANY free agent receivers (unless Braylon costs nothing) and just get a good draft prospect. But if they're hell bent on it we could do worse.
So, Cotchery leaves last year because he says he's not a significant part of the offense and wants more playing time... he then goes to Pittsburgh wherein he catches a total of 16 passes for 237 yards. If he didn't feel appreciated in NY -- how appreciated does he feel in Pittsburgh?
Santana caught 90+ balls two years ago, the Jets could absolutely use that. They need consistency, and provided he's healthy he can provide that. He's still fairly dangerous as a deep receiver and is a great catch and run guy. I would suggest bringing in both he and Braylon, which would give us a versatile, experienced WR corps. The best part is that we could probably get both (combined) for Eddie Royal money.
What kind of shape is Santana in? I bet he's still pretty quick. It's not like he's about to collect social security.
I'd rather not add another dwarf sized receiver, especially one that will be 33 when the season starts.
