Cardinals, Jets show interest in WR Schillens
    By Jason La Canfora

Free-agent WR Chaz Schillens is drawing some early attention on the open market. Schillens is being pursued by the Jets and Cardinals, and already has a visit set up with Arizona.

Schillens battled injuries throughout his four seasons with the Raiders. But he played in 15 games last season, finishing with 23 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdowns.

I expect the Jets to sign Schillens. He has the type of measurables you take a chance on with incentive laden contract. Maybe we get lucky. Having his former WR coach has to give the Jet's an edge.

Yeah this seems like a low risk high reward contract. I like it.

With that production he would fit right in its our wide receivers!

Maybe he's a good special teams player?

He'd probably get hurt signing his name on the contract. Looks the part, but never actually plays the part because he's always hurt.

He was supposed to be a breakout candidate for a few years with Oakland, but he just never clicked. I doubt it would happen with the Jets. He's no Matt Hatchette, but he's only good for a weak #2, average #3 receiver.

You know what, I'm actually liking the way MT and Rex are going about this. Don't throw a ton of money at a big name like we've done in the past but start addressing the biggest need on this team and that is DEPTH.

Between FA and our draft picks we can actually stock this team and possibly find a few roses amongst the weeds.
Make smart solid FA signings and we can upgrade at every position of need.

If they're signing this guy to be our #2, god help us. If he's our #4, fine, but since our 1 and 3 spots are filled with Holmes and Kerley, I don't understand this move unless anothe WR is coming along with him, or they draft a WR in the first round.

Might bring him on because of our WR coach who used to be with Oakland. Don't see this guy as anything more than a #4

    Holmes
    #2
    Kerley
    Chaz
    Turner

I'm not so sure on picking up an injury prone guy destined to maybe break out some day. Maybe if it's dirt cheap. I'd rather save money for Edwards.

Again, no problem with him as a 4, but do we have the money to sign another WR, as well? Think we'd take a WR in the 1st round to start for us?

That's likely the only reason they're interested.

sounds like a patrick turner (who we have already resigned) clone. if our intentions are to have him as any higher than a 4 or 5 wr we are fucked.
