This is a good move IMO, hopefully for the vet minimum. I still hope we draft Upshaw, Ingram, or Perry.

Me too, would love the Jets to trade down, pick up an extra first next year from Dallas, and watch them go 0-16 while we get the #1 overall pick next year.

Seriously, really like the idea of getting back BT. Hopefully, it's minimum or damn near close, but he's been a solid run stopper for us, and it's nice keeping longtime Jets.

BT is a good run stopper but I would have rather we had gone in another direction. Hopefully it's for minimum and he comes back in a back up role.

I keep saying the same thing, if the Bills get Super Mario the Jets are in trouble. We need to get the right side of the o line fixed now!

Sign Nelson, Landry, Edwards, and Winston if possible...

Draft I keep saying it blue chip O Line or OLB prospect in the first...

my boy Doug Martin in the 2nd....

I guess your hoping for a big splash where as most Jets fans are just hoping we address our glaring needs with any player that is serviceable. We don't need to shock the football world with a multi-million dollar signing; we just need to add quality player's and add depth . It really is coming together and hopefully we make our additions during the next month or so , so we go to camp fully stocked and hopeful for our added draft player to contribute .

Great move. I'm happy with this. For the record Thomas is not 'very slow'. He actually has quite decent speed. Obviously not the 4.47 when he got drafted but he's in good shape.

He never looks fast to me. He's nice against the run and at setting the edge, but I'd definitely call him slow so far as NFL standards go.

Except for when he hustles non-stop and catches people from behind? ok.

People hate BT bc he was drafted to become a pass rushing beast and he never became that. But, for what he is, a jack of all trades who is a run stopping beast, cover a little and rush the passer a little, he's really good.

Here we go with the "it can't hurt us if it's for the minimum" posts that support yet another pointless signing. He'd better be a backup because if this guy starts, we're in trouble!

My 47 years of NYJ fandom tells me this team & future teams for next 5/10 years are in deep poo-poo

We were fine with him starting in '09 and '10. Our D looked much more vulnerable without him in '11. Understand that he's a stout run defender and plugs a need for us.

NO! Must bring in unknown players to add extra risk of ruin to team. Must not resign less than pro bowl players. Must resist urge not to criticize Tanny. Must...Must learn that deals cut both ways before head explodes.

Youre really confident in a #1 like Holmes while you and others bashed him all year? Other then Blackmon, the other ones are all crapshoots. You cant patch up every hole with question marks or average players unless you expect to be an average team like last year. Most of you complain about Sanchez has no one to throw to yet are against bringing in any proven talented receivers. You cant have it both ways!

Well it's a tough situation to address WR in the way that you want. We have a lot tied up in Tone. Other positions of need. Not a ton of breathing room in the cap. Sanchez shouldn't necessarily be counted on to get full production out of a WR still at this early stage in his career. By investing a lot of money over there at least some percentage of that money is going to go to waste by definition.

We're in a limiting situation where we have to find somebody, but probably can't invest too much money (or draft pick) to get the job done. If the guy that we add proves out we could look to cut Holmes when we can in a couple of years and that would work out nicely. If he doesn't, we'll likely have to play this same dance again next year but hopefully with some extra resources at our disposal.
