Take a look at the box scores or better yet watch those 6 playoff games and then come back and try and make the same statement. Sanchez played very well in those 6 games and it was actually the defense that lost the AFC title game both years, not the QB.
yesterday I asked a question----but I just read that Tom Moore is NOT under contract for 2012-------I think that his still being here would be a very good selling point should the Jets really be interested in Manning
Trying to reason with a known dullard is a waste of time, my friend. srqman1 doesn't understand, nor will he ever.
I dunno, if there was ever a free agent who you junk your plan for it's Peyton Manning. The Jets Blog describes him as "an aging, rusty, recovering quarterback." I'd describe him as "a 4 time MVP who has always been better than the Jets current QB could ever hope to be." I'm against going after Peyton for logistical/salary cap reasons, but from a pure football standpoint there's really no argument for Sanchez over Manning. I don't think that making that switch (if they could pull it off) would reflect poorly on the Jets front office at all. There isn't a single poster on this board who's even remotely qualified to answer that question.
not being remotely qualified doesn't stop people from giving their medical opinions on peyton's neck  i was just curious for people's opinions because one of the things that's brought up is that peyton wouldn't want to play in this locker room. but most of the strife seems centered around sanchez. not that he's causing it but it revolves around him.
I'd assume that Manning would improve the situation because he has so much instant credibility. Then again, I would've assumed the same thing about Brett Favre and look how that worked out. There's really no way of knowing.
I don't care about your little league days, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. We had a poor OL, a mediocre defense and mediocre play from our WRs. if you think it was all about the QB you know even less than it appears. You don't think there were any issues in 2009 or 2010? that stuff comes out when you lose like the jets this year or the red Sox, did anyone complain about the Sox drinking and eating during games when they had the best record in the league? when Osi wanted out, Jacobs was whining, players saing they'd rather play for Rex, etc... did that mean the Giants couldn't win? The Giants were 7-7, the difference btw a SB and missing the playoffs was one play against us. if we win that game we likely go back to the postseason and the Giants are home and we wouldn't hear about the LR issues while Tom Coughlin would have bene fired and Giant fans would have been asking for peyton.
Winning brings a locker room together. I dont remember hearing of any problems during the 2009-2010 season run do you?
I'm torn, I mean whats Sanchez's ceiling, how good can be, can I get a comparison, I'm at the point where I want to sign Peyton Manning, trade Sanchez for 2 2nds and a 4th and draft BJ Coleman to learn under Peyton for 3-4 years
As much as I despise Sanchez right now because of certain parts of the game that were entirely his responsibility (throwing into triple coverage, taking a sack and not throwing the ball out of bounds), there were so many pieces around him that even the casual observer would deem "deficient." In no particular order: 1) An OL which leaked like a sieve. 2) Inconsistent RB play. 3) Crappy offensive coordinator. 4) WR's who simply gave up on plays or didn't stretch the field. That's just the "O" we're talking about. You have to say to yourself, what would happen if those pieces were fixed (some already are) where you could then properly evaluate Sanchez? You have to give this kid one more year as we've invested too much in him. Peyton Manning is simply too much of an unknown at this point, and if we don't fix the pieces noted above (which is most likely the case because we will be in cap hell) then what good is bringing a fragile Manning, who will most likely not make it to the bye week before he's sipping his Filet Mignon from a straw the rest of his life. If Sanchez, with the improvements noted above, still tanks by the middle of next season, you have to start whoever the vet is sitting behind him, and can his ass to the curb by year's end.
Don't always agree with junc but, this is SPOT on...... Don't fall for the media sensationalism of a Locker Room Circus - the Difference between a Circus and Sanchez and Holmes doing dances around the stadium is just a few plays..... I literally laugh my ass off at how in week 7 the giants were ready to be blown up and the coach and QB let go in BOTH Giant Super Bowl years...... Stupid media looking to sell papers rope some fans in on this utter Bullshit.
Sanchez was adequate in those 6 games as long as the D was playing great, when the D couldn't carry the load and we needed something from Sanchez we didn't exactly get much. We scored over 20 twice and both games the D played well and we ran the ball very well. The flip side to the D lossing those 2 games is we won only one game when the opposition scored more than 20 points. The Giants scored over 20 points in all 4 of their playoff games so did the Packers the year before, the Saints scored over 30 in there three playoff wins in 09, the Steelers in their 3 playoff wins in 08. You have to go back to 07 and 06 to find SB teams that won a playoff game with less than 20 points, that was the Giants against NE in the SB and the Colts against the Ravens in Baltimore. You want a SB we need better play out of the QB by a long shot.
There should be some minimum knowledge requirement for posting here that people have to first recognize that football is a team sport and team won lost record is not an indiviidual stat. If team won lost record were an appropriate gauge of QB performance, why can't we say that since the Jets missed the playoffs in 11 after having made it the two previous years, that Sanchez is regressing and obviously is not going to work out as the Jet QB? Oh now Sanchez Fans don't want to talk about team won lost record anymore. Got it.
