Here is the National Weather service for North Jersey, Southern NY State...I think they truly have no idea how this will play out either:

PRECIPITATION DEVELOPS FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST BEGINNING MID
MORNING WEDNESDAY AS ISENTROPIC LIFT INCREASES. FOR NOW IT APPEARS
THAT THERE IS THE POTENTIAL ACROSS MY NORTHERN TIER OF ZONES FOR
3-6 INCHES OF SNOW AND UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE. BASED ON
THE POTENTIAL COMBINED IMPACT OF THE SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN...AND
THAT IT WILL IMPACT THE EVENING RUSH HOUR...HAVE ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH FOR THESE ZONES FROM MIDDAY WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
MORNING. FOR THE AREAS IMMEDIATELY TO THE S OF THE WATCH...THERE
IS SOME POTENTIAL THAT WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES COULD BE NEEDED
AS WELL WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON/NIGHT FOR 1-4 INCHES OF SNOW AND
POSSIBLY A GLAZE TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE...BUT NOT QUITE
CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO DO SO AT THIS TIME. LONG ISLAND/NYC COULD SEE
UP TO AN INCH OF SNOW...MAINLY ACROSS NORTHERN PORTIONS TO GET
STARTED...BUT MOSTLY WILL SEE JUST RAIN.-- End Changed Discussion --

Man... we didn't get winter at all this year. Not that I miss snow, but I think we only had like 4 days total that were below freezing.

To me, "snow" is meaningless unless it sticks. They kept talking on the radio this week about snow and sleet, but the temperature was well above freezing, so it didn't mean much of anything. Maybe while the snow is actually coming down it could be slightly harder to see? That's about it.

Yeah Yis, we had almost 4 hours of snow and it never stuck here either. Im trying to get some totals from centeral NY State..heard there was some spots over a foot.

Yeah abzy....this winter truly sucked and for those that hate the shit...perfect. They say winters like this usually end with one big bomb but its surely not in the cards the next week...mild mild mild. Taking the family up to Windham, NY this weekend for some skiing. They probably got at least 12 inches so that should be cool.

Nothing in the long range but will keep you boys and girls and johnnnny up to date.

Hey, I love the area around Windham. Used to play the golf course there twice a year, but four holes on the front nine got wiped out by the hurricane last year.

I hear the town is totally back to normal, though.

    Enjoy.

Yeah but we usually have at least something that resembles winter. Hell, it snowed here last March. This year... no winter at all, really. Sucks because I got a nice leather duster for Christmas and have only been able to wear it like 3 times.

Incredible little town isnt it? Yeah...very much back to normal. Did you ever see some of the videos from there during and right after the Hurricane BB? The place got wiped out.

Great Golf Course...never played it but viewed it many times. As unique as you can get. Thanks BB..will enjoy.

I'm pretty much resigned to never seeing snow this winter.

Nothing nada...nothing. I mean there is talk of much colder temps after the 21st of march..so there lies the final chance.

I will say this..next week? You will see widespread 70's in our area..and you will see widespread 80's in Virginia. Its going to torch big time....but winter will have one more surprise this year. I dont even want it...but trends trends say yes...one more major surprise and my early prediction would be between march 22nd and April 2.

All the teleconnections during that time frame show below average temps and above average precip. We shall see!

Temps, I could care less, it'll keep the bugs down. But it better not rain on my vacation in the Charleston SC area (last week of March). I'm counting on ya here, JW.

    Hike,

This takes you all the way out to March 23rd for Charleston, SC. You will see the highlighted part that ends on that day...then it gives you the average high and low which is upper 60's. Just before you get there..wow..maybe that will continue...80's.

Refresh it everyday and you will get an idea:
