I actually came on here to post this, and then saw that Manning was to be cut. Comical!

Let's say that we don't get Peyton Manning as the crux of this topic.

Garcon, is a young, explosive WR with a case of the dropsies, but he is a game changer. He does it with sub par QB's, and should come relatively cheap.

    Thoughts?

When are you going to start the "Reggie Wayne?" thread?

Ummm, I wouldn't. Garcon is a real option, and I am basing it on us NOT getting Manning. (That is what I am assuming your sarcasm is for) Also, if you look at the poll I started for Manning you will see that I don't want Manning to come to NYJ.

    Epic Fail!

Same clip for two threads. That's a true winner right there!

I don't know how to take this. I am assuming that you like the idea, but then Kermit kinda throws the ummmm "task" as a joke.

The minute you said Garcon was a "game changer" in the OP, is when this thread lost credibility.

L.Fitzgerald is a game changer. Garcon is a JAG.

If Garcon was such a game changer, the Colts wouldn't be picking 1st in the draft.

Ah, I didn't realize you had to be elite to be a game changer. Go watch some film, educate yourself, and then come back.

With Braylon, other FA receivers, and all the other options in the draft, it just doesn't make any sense to pursue him. Unless we get Manning of course.

I see. So in your mind, middle-of-the-road WRs are game changers.

Patrick Turner should've led us to the playoffs then.

Edwards, the same WR that we didn't even offer a contract to in free agency, and the same Edwards that was cut from a horrible WR corp in SF.

Vincent Jackson - too much, and disappears for weeks at a time.

Marcus Colston - product of Drew Brees, IMO

    Brandon LLoyd - no thanks

Garcon makes more sense than gambling in the draft, and we fill a hole. Then we can use that pick on a more pressing need.

Holmes, Garcon, Kerley, Keller is a solid core.

DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy, Michael Vick and Asante Samuel are all game changers yet the Eagles’ record was 7-9...Hmmm

Adrian Peterson is a game changer yet the Vikings are picking 3rd.

    Think before you post.

ummmm. You just tallied off 5 starting players that are at the top of their depth charts.

Pierre Garcon is not even close to any of those players mentioned talent wise. The only reason you guys know his name is because Anthony Gonzalez got injured and Manning made Garcon look serviceable. Without Manning, Garcon is a JAG.

So in your mind, Turner is on the same level as Garcon?

No, in my mind, I wouldn't overpay for a WR that looked better than his actual talent level, because his QB is a superstar.

If Drew Bledsoe didnt get injured, we wouldnt know of the GOAT in Tom Brady.

And Pierre Garcon is a starting WR? He’s a #2 behind a great WR (or at least was a year ago or two ago).

This JAG without Manning outproduced any passcatcher on the Jets, and that was with Dan Orlovsky and Curtis Painter.

Just because a guy isnt Elite, doesnt mean he isnt a game changer. For the sake of your argument- Antonio Brown, even Joe McKnight, Darren Sproles, Jordy Nelson, Santonio Holmes or Braylon for us werent Elite but both were game changers, Laurent Robinson (towards the end of the season), Percy Harvin, Torry Smith (towards the end of the season), Leon Washington when he was here... Get my point. Yes.

    Garcon still isn't a game changer. He's a JAG.

You mentioned some good WRs and you're correct about the majority of them. But completely wrong about Garcon. *shrugs*

    garcon is alright.

he's just wildly inconsistent in every way. he's fast so he's capable of breaking a long td but he doesn't do it often enough where you really worry about him doing it. he'll make these crazy athletic catches one play and then drop an easy one the next. he tends to have these monster games from time to time to really up his stats and then disappear for a while.

he rejected a 5 year 35 million dollar extension a little bit ago so with the kind of money he's looking for, there are definitely better options.

This is all so confusing. I don't understand how all of these players we dream of getting will fit into a new offensive scheme we are going to be running. I hear Manning can run anything , but this new offensive coordinator is a run first kind of guy??? Why would we load up on a bunch of receiver's when Obviously a New running back is the best option to spend some serious coinage on.
