I sent him a couple of emails linking the forum. He is very message board conscious, even wrote a couple of posters at Westeros.org into his books as minor characters. Wouldn't be surprised if he already had an account here.
I was watching the excellent new BBC adaptation of Great Expectations and kept thinking how I recognised one of the characters, Herbert Pocket but couldnt place him. So I checked it out on imdb and saw it was none other than Viserys Targaryen (Harry LLoyd), who was excellent. It was very apt him playing a character in Great Expectations as he is apparently the great-great-great-grandson of Charles Dickens.
Two new epic trailers are out... Guys April 1st cannot get here fast enough...HBO going full force for this show. I know you all have seen tv spots and other stuff around. These look EPIC, OH SO EPIC
Anybody else go full blown nerd and join the Westeros.org forums? Ifn ya did, hit me up -- Scruggy. Also, the Game of Thrones RPG is coming out in May, which had GRRM consulting them through the development. I'm def going to pick that up -- right after I finish Skyrim.
whoa is that gonna be for PS3? Sign me up if so...I have not joined westeros.org because I am taking my sweet ass time with the 5th book right now, Id rather join when I finish with it and then wait and suffer maybe 3 years instead of 4 on the next book to arrive lol
The graphics are kinda meh, but if it's open world -- that would be tits just walking around Westeros.
I hope its better than the last game of thrones PC game which I bought on release before reading any reviews
dvd and blu ray of season 1 out today...i think it was 34.99 on amazon for the blu ray. I dont know if i want to buy it though...I barely am rewatching dvds
buy it, watch it, sell it on ebay or whatever and it will "cost" you $5 - i have done this a fair bit with stuff I got on good offers on play.com or amazon and often got more than I paid for it new.
I haven't watched this show yet, I hear it's good, so I'm going to rent it on Netflix and give it a go.
I recommend the first Dragon Age game. The similarity between the game and the books are pretty heavy handed. The game developers had even stated that they drew much inspiration from ASOIAF. Uses of words like "Ser" instead of "sir", and Valyrian steal constituting the best weapons. There's even a civil war that rages, while a greater evil threatens to consume the world.
