I desperately desperately deeeeeeeeesperately hope that its the Pats. The thought of them giving up two 1sts, two 2nds, PLUSS some for someone who wont even play for another 3-4 years and while ignoring all of their needs makes me giddy. I know with complete certainty that this will never happen, but omg its a wet dream for a Jet fan. The Pats giving up all the picks they stockpiled for a completely idiotic pick.
I'd probably give up on the Jets for this season and a few seasons to come if they made a boneheaded move like that lol. Sounds like he just threw the Jets in there to make up numbers in his guess. I do think the Redskins will be the ones to get that #2 pick. The Browns have too many weaknesses to give up 2 good picks for 1 I think, unless they have absolutely no faith that Colt McCoy can get better in their system.
http://www.nationalfootballauthority.com/2012/02/per-league-source-st-louis-rams-have.html Wow according to this, the Jets actually spoke to the Rams about the 2nd pick. Is Tannenbaum retarded? SMDH
Hes a GM its his job to make calls. I wouldnt be surprised if he offered something like Mark and a 1st or something stupid. Theres no way the Jets would give up the farm to draft another QB. None
What would the Rams do with Sanchez though? They have Sam Bradford there already. Maybe they offered Santonio Holmes? lol
If the Jets trade up to #2 Tanny will get either fired or murdered, whichever happens first. The Rams played their cards right not hiding their intent to trade their pick. Now Cleveland knows that it will take at LEAST both of their first rounders + a 2nd or 3rd to get that pick. Rumor has it Washington is prepared to offer this year's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd... as well as next year's 1st or at least a 2nd. That means the jets would have to offer 1, 2 and 3 this year, plus next year's first + a legitimate roster player to win the bidding. I don't give a shit how good RG3 is, that type of move could set our franchise back a decade. We need skill players to put around our QB, and skill players to pressure opposing QBs. Our QB is not our problem.
lol apparently the asking price is 2 1st rounders this year + 1st next year for Browns Redskins 1st 3 picks this year + 1st next year Rams are making away like bandits for an unproven rookie
I wouldn't be all that surprised if the Jets inquired about the 2 pick. It makes all the sense in the world for them to throw away the rest of the current window on another rookie QB as Mangold and Brick and Revis and Harris all get a couple of years older during the rookie's growing pains. The thing that is clear about the Jet's management team since 2001 is that the one thing they never do, ever, is learn from their mistakes. That's why the same issues keep biting them in the ass year after year.
We all know Tanny loves to trade up, but this one is beyond reasonable. No way he trades up for an unproven QB who's stock skyrocketed not long ago. Not happening.
if it happens, the Jets talent pool will be considerably compromised for the foreseeable future. Let's hope Tannenbaum doesn't make any rash moves.
I am not sure if you are making a joke about trading up for an unproven QB whose stock skyrocketed as a reference to Sanchez? Anyway, its quite interesting how similar the stats were for Sanchez and RG3 in their respective final college seasons as passers ................Att Com % Yds TD Int Sanchez - 366 241 65.8 3,207 34 10 RG3 ------ 369 267 72.4 3,998 36 6
