Miller going to be a ok RB but i think James is the better back. I didnt say take him at 16 I said trade down.
I know you said that, but I said he was a reach, and i believe he would still be a big reach at 32, as far as you can trade down in round 1.
I don't think so. If its a reach, its a reach. If you can get the player later (as in at least a round later) and you can use your current pick on a player of better value at the time, and then with your next pick still get your guy (James in this case) which is better? Having your guy and nobody else? Or having your guy and a guy of higher value at the time of the draft? Regardless of how it works out? Oh and if you reach big time in round 1 and are wrong (especially this year as GM of the Jets) you probably are out of a job. So you better damn well not be wrong.
Don't get me wrong I see ur point, but i seen this guy play every game the past 2 years and I believe he going to be a great RB in NFL.
I was talking more so about in the air. Braylon does not have Michael's control in the air of his body to readjust to short throws. Floyd does not have Braylon's speed nor will he ever be(That was why Braylon was a top 3 pick) but he is much stronger and corners are going to have to cut him down at the knees to bring him down. Edwards shied away from contact when he had the ball in his hand.
Honestly, there are a lot of different directions this team can go in that would make me happy. Trent Richardson would be a wet dream. I think he's the best RB prospect since Peterson, and I'd love to get him. I'm not a fan of investing huge resources into runningbacks, but Mark Sanchez needs another big playmaker on offense, and if we're truly ready for a ground-and-pound run-heavy style again, I'm not sure I trust McKnight and Powell to take pressure off Greene. T-Rich and Greene, with McKnight sprinkled in like he was last year, now that is a running game to fear. If he's gone, give me a pass rusher. If no good pass rusher is there, I want a playmaking WR like Floyd or Jeffray or an offensive lineman. I like Mark Barron, but I'm not a huge fan of first round safeties unless they have elite potential. If they trade down to the mid-20's and grab him, I'd be fine with that.
I just want the Jets to come up with a really solid no questions asked player in the first round for the first time since 2007. The first round picks of the last 4 seasons are collectively killing this team at this point and the 2nds aren't any better. You can't keep oh-fering the first two rounds and stay competitive in the NFL. I'd rather they draft Konz or Hightower (reaches but solid players) on the 16 and get a real player than draft Ingram and find out he's a 4-3 DE and not suited for the 3-4 or Glenn and find out that he expects everybody to do for him. I will freaking scream if DeCastro somehow drops to 16 and the Jets let him go by for Ingram.
I'd be happy with every player on this list. I'm starting to lean more towards drafting skill in the first round. Floyd is the basketball player type Sanchez needs within the WR corps. Richardson could be special & I think Greene would compliment him well.
If T-Rich is available we pick him no questions asked. In the more likely scenario that he gets picked before us, I say we go: 1.) Upshaw 2.) Ingram 3.) Floyd
Realistically, I want: 1) Courtney Upshaw 2) Michael Floyd 3) Mike Adams 4) Melvin Ingram 5) Alshon Jeffery Unrealistically(somewhat), I want: 1. Trent Richardson 2. David DeCastro 3. Riley Reiff 4. Quinton Coples 5. Luke Kuechly
Nobody should want Adams over Ingram. Ingram is by far a superior prospect for our team needs than Adams. And Coples is strictly a 4-3 DE. If a 3-4 team drafts him they fucked up big time.
Maybe I just think differently, who knows. I like Adams potential more than I do Ingrams. I'm just not wowed by Ingram really, I think he will be a solid player and I love his versatility but I dont think that triumphs Mike Adams ability to solidify the line as well as ,quite possibly, play RT for the next 6-7 years if not more. Many are not high on Adams but I certainly am, I think adding him would give us our running game back, keep Sanchez upright, and overall give the offense some consistency. I understand how badly we need an OLB, trust me, but if I have to choose between Adams or Ingram at #16 I take Adams and dont look back. Coples is a 4-3 DE for sure but he can play some 3-4 OLB. Dont forget how much this defense switches between 3-4 and 4-3. Although we are a 3-4 based team we do play in many 4-3 fronts. I think if somehow Coples was there we should not skip him, he would provide instant pass rush and IMO can be very versatile for us. This isnt to say he is ideal by any means at 3-4 OLB, because he is not, but I believe we could fit him in.
Either of the QB's has a shot at being a huge bust. Andrew Luck has it worse though because he could very well be a success and a bust at the same time. That's what following Peyton Manning will do to you. Picture Luck retiring in 12 years with 250 TD's and a lifetime 87.1 rating. Bust!
yeah, but which is worse? Luck posting those numbers following Manning (who was gone a year earlier, so it won't be a direct, direct comparison) Or RGIII posting those numbers, after some team gives up years worth of draft picks for him? Hell if a team trades everything for RGIII his chances of busting increase ten fold I would say. They need those picks to surround him with talent, and with each addition high pick that gets tossed in the deal, the more likely it is RGIII doesn't reach his potential.
