Teams are not buying or selling jeffery on his 40 time. There is enough tape of him beating SEC corners deep to jsutify drafting him. His skills that you look at are in the Elite class. His body controll and hands are amazing. He is also very adept at using his body to sheild the ball from defenders and making a play. If you get the ball near him he's coming away with it and he ran a lot more than simple go routes. He is also very physical after the catch. The big knock o him was people thought he had gotten fat and lazy. Showing up at the combine at a ripped 216 and lettign the teams go backto the tape was a good move for him. Track speed is not everything. Don't get too caught up in combine maddness.
I dont see Hill being a first round pick, I think he solidified himself as a day two prospect. Jeffery not running I think will have a polarizing effect. I think any team that really cared about his spedd is gonna drop him a bunch. But those who dont probably wont move him too much
If sanu drops to 2nd round I would trade up in the 2nd him if we do not go after floyd in 1st. But floyd did have off the field issues and NYC would make it worse but then again who knows
Last year I called Dalton out as being my sleeper QB (back when he was mocked in rd 4), this year that prospect to me is Cousins. Very impressive guy on and off the field. Mind you the QBs this year are generally better than the ones last year. On the other hand K. Moore is showing why you don't throw at the combine... yikes. Like Sanu but his hands are sooo damn inconsistent! That said he reminds me of Boldin... that would fit pretty well over here. Quick is showing good hands but he doesn't seem to be running the drills at 100% speed... which is disappointing.
Floyd needed the interview process as much as the 40 time here at the combine. He's at worst a mid first round talent if teams belive in his year of staying out of trouble.
I am really likeing #47 WR white kid while im wtching this!! Who is he and could jets pick him up late? I think better then welker!
Devon Wylie from Fresno, a alte round type guy. He is very sudden in his route running, but his hands do not look great. For a run first team it would be a luxery to take a guy that is by all accoutns a less talented Kerley. Perhaps with a late comp pick.
Tomorrow is a big day for the team. Im excited to see how some of these DE/LB prospects perform in some of these drills.
if we could somehow land hill in rd 2 and ingram/upshaw/decastro/martin in rd 1 this draft would be a homerun. i hope tanny is keeping a close eye on ryan broyles, too, because if he's healthy he has first round talent. could be a major steal for someone on day 2.
It's funny how we keep on saying all the combine should do is send you back to the tape and then someone runs a 4.3 thirty and he's the next Jerry Rice! The only meaningful good game Hill had was vs North Carolina. Of his 820yds and 5tds he put up 300 and 3 vs Western Carolina and Middle Tennessee (first 2 games of the season). I'm sorry but this guy is as big as a project as there is and if he goes anywhere before rd 3 it's ONLY based on potential. He also plays in a system that's as different from a pro-system as possible... If we draft him in rd 2 I'll kill someone. Especially in such a WR rich draft.
BTW I think they changed the system to measure the 40 times... it's impossible that the times are sooo much better than last year's. So make comparisons with a pinch of salt... When are comp picks assigned?
This. Been waiting for tomorrow all weekend. Also I'd rather take Marvin McNutt or Gerell Robinson in a later round than Hill in the 2nd. Why do you think half the people here hadn't even heard of this guy until he ran his 40?
Hill definely not a household name but certainly is known by scouts and draftniks. What he ran shoiuldn't surprise anyone. He probably is an early 2nd roud pick and moving up. Geogia Tech has a great history of WR's.
remember these are all unofficial NFLN has been fast on the clock by about .05 seconds for years when compared to the official times.
