    According to Brooks it looks like our offer is Dubinsky, Erixon/McIlrath, Thomas, 2012 1st. McDonagh/Del Zotto is not happening no matter what, nor is Stepan or Kreider...Sather is apparently adamant that none of those four are available.

    Honestly, if that was the offer and Columbus was willing to take it I'd be hard pressed to turn it down. Yea Nash makes 7.8 million, but Gaborik makes 7.5 and we're unlikely to resign him after his deal is up in 2 years. Resigning Prust and Del Zotto shouldn't be a problem with Nash b/c Wolski will be gone, and the cap hit for Drury's buy out will drop 2 million and Feds will probably be gone as well. The cap problem comes next year when Stepan, McD are up for a raise, at which point Gaborik has one year left on his deal...Sather would probably trade him out west then to make room for the raises and replenish the farm system...

    That would classify as an "if it were only that simple" kind of move. When it's explained like that, then yeah it seems like a good move. A lot has to go right for that to work out though.

    @ChrisBottaNHL
    Rangers in on Dustin Brown, who would fit in perfectly and cost less (in assets and $) than Rick Nash.

    I'd love for the Rangers to land Dustin Brown.

    He's a bigger, slightly more skilled version of Callahan.

    Cally has 11 points more than him, so he's 1 " bigger, Cally's the more skilled player and better Captain...Brown is a player, though, not as skilled as Nash but would come alot cheaper and would definitely fit Torts system...

    I'd say they're practically the same kind of player. Though I'd imagine Cally gives up his body more since I'm pretty sure he out-does everyone in that category.

    Rangers announce Fedotenko in at forward but Eminger out on D so Bickel remains in.

    Brown hits more, Callahan blocks more shots. Callahan's also much more efficient with the puck.

    Consider it a moot debate now. Lombardi came out and told the other GMs that Brown is off the table for deals.

    Brown has apparently been taken off the market. And even before then LA was asking for a NHL ready defenseman...so we weren't a fit anyway.
