JUPITER, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins fans want the team to acquire Peyton Manning, and they're using a billboard and website to campaign. Dolphins fans are using a billboard to advertise a website urging their favorite team to acquire Peyton Manning to start at quarterback. The manningtomiami.com site is advertised on a billboard along an Interstate near the Dolphins' complex. Under an image of Manning about to throw a pass in a Dolphins uniform, the sign reads "MANNING TO MIAMI.com." The website encourages fans to fill out a form urging the Dolphins to bring Manning to Miami. A list of those supporting the campaign will be given to the Dolphins and Manning's advisers, the site says. Manning has spent the past five months recovering from his third neck surgery in less than two years, and it's unclear whether he'll remain with the Indianapolis Colts. At the NFL scouting combine Thursday, Colts general manager Ryan Grigson repeatedly spoke of the decision on Manning, who's due a $28 million bonus on March 8, as an ongoing process. "Peyton has to be healthy, it has to be something that's spoken on, investigated and talked about," Grigson said. "But right now, like I said, it's a process that we're waiting for things to happen and doing the things that we have control of. Things that we don't have control of we just have no choice but to be patient and (perhaps) all you will be the same. ... "I can't talk about Peyton's medical status right now." Manning has broken all of Indianapolis' career records for quarterbacks and had never missed a start before last season. He's taken the Colts to the playoffs 11 times, captured seven AFC South titles in eight years, won two AFC championships, one Super Bowl title and a Super Bowl MVP Award. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7606637/peyton-manning-miami-dolphins-billboard-site-launched Manningtomiami.com hahahah
That's hilarious. Bunch of clowns think they can control the front office decisions. I can't pretend to know their cap situation, but Manning would be a good pick up for them if they can afford him. I really hope it doesn't happen, though.
I'm praying we don't try to get him We can't really afford it and who knows when he will suffer a career ending neck injury Plus he would probably still be Brady's bitch
I would cautiously worried if this happened. One Manning to Miami could end up being dangerous, but I think the more likely scenario is they use their cap on Manning and he ends up getting hurt again or not near the level expected. I do like how fans think this will sway Peyton's mind or control the front office.
I dont think Manning is a good fit for Miami who has a new coach with a different system than what manning is used to.
Can I donate to the cause ? Id love to see Miami go all in on Peyton and fail miserably to ever win a playoff game with him
Facing Manning and Brady each TWICE a year scares me -- I'm sure he's not his former self but if they get him then they know he can still play. That would instantly make the AFC East the hardest division in the league... and we'd be near (or at) the bottom of it.
This is Miami were talking about. If Pitt, the Ravens real franchises got him then you know he can still play. If he goes to Miami, or dare I say it even us, that doesnt mean anything. Were both franchises known to want to spend $$$ and make a splash, and getting Peyton would be a splash. Miami would sign him if he was in a fricken wheelchair
On another note when you sign into the website it takes u to a survey and asks if you would like to buy stock in AFGAN currency... I just want to get that out there this is another plot behind a good story
Funny the main page says its brought to you by "Dinar, wholesaler of Iraqi Dinars" I think its quite clear that the Dolphins are run by terrorist, does Peyton Manning REALLY want to be a terrorist?
Iraqi Afgan ..... same thing right? lol jk But seriously that whole petition website is a sham and i hope all dumb dolphins visit it
And I hope all the dolphins who visit it get tracked by the FBI, the Irony of Dolphin fans getting recorded by the Patriot Act
Manning's contract would be incentive laden. Only gets paid big bucks if he can actually produce and play on the field. If Manning can still play, the Dolphins would be SB contenders. Pro Bowl Wide Receiver? check Pro Bowl Left tackle covering his blind side? check (Arguably the best LT in football) Competent running game and 1,000 yard rusher? check Competent Defense? check (Miami only allowed 19 pts per game this season) Keep laughing. Miami is a QB away from contention.
:rofl2:if you think Manning would sign an incentive based contract you are crazy. he's going to get paid. PB WR who plays best when games are meaningless? check Reggie Bush is not an everydown back, he did well after Miami was out of contention as did the entire team but who cares if a team can play w/ no pressure to win?: In the 7 game losing streak to start the season he had more than 50 yds rushing ONCE and more than 4 YPC 3 times. The D allowed 24 PPG through 7, the 2nd half 16. Can they play a full season? Much of Miami's #s were skewed since they were out of the race by October.
Miami already has our number under Rex. I don't even want a chance of a healthy Manning in Miami to make it worse. I hope he signs somewhere else.
