I likes me some swiss cheese but other then giving up some big plays and being slow as fuck it was still a top 5 D.

    Thank You

Amen. People forget all too quickly Rex's success as Jets HC and also as a coordinator in years past. The Jets are good because of Rex, not in spite of him. This year humbled him, which is good, but he's gotta stay true to himself. Maybe he's done with the constant guarantees, but I hope he retains his bravado.

Top 5 Defenses make the playoffs and being slow and giving up big plays isnt a top D.

It wasn't great, and it wasn't as good as the previous two years, but it was still probably in the top 3rd in the league. I would hardly call it swiss cheese.

You are clearly drunk. We definitely didn't have the top D in the league, but swiss cheese? Are you kidding me? This was a top 5 D statistically. Now we gave up a few extra points than most teams, but that was our offense's inability to do much with the ball.

The Pats gave up fewer points on D, but that doesn't mean they had the better D. Their D was ranked 31st in the league for YPG, about half a yard a game better than the Packers.

    Nose bleed?
We were 4th best D on 3rd down Defense.
THE best D on 4th down.
5th best D on YPG allowed.
6th best D on first downs allowed.
5th best D on yards per play.

All those stats, even considering the big plays allowed (99 yard TD). Yeah, we gave up a few big plays such as that Cruz TD and the Tebow TD, but neither of those losses are on the D.

Also, the year we had the Best D statistically, we were 9-7 (2009). Im assuming you think that was also a swiss cheese D?

But he also wore on his right hand his Super Bowl ring — earned in 2000 as an assistant with the Baltimore Ravens — and proved he had not abandoned the championship talk that has defined his tenure.

“I plan on getting another one, and I plan on getting it quickly,” Ryan said.

    He just can't help himself.

LOL @ labeling our defense 'Swiss cheese'. The OL was swiss cheese, not the defense. Hell just tell me 8-8 and no playoffs means the D is Swiss cheese ignoring context. Love the greybeard fans.

Your right, but I just want something to lean on when im down. Nothing would be more enjoyable than watching replays of the Jets winning a Super Bowl that I got to witness. I would watch it 100s of times in my life probably.

We need to get over the hump I believe once we do, we wont go another 40+ years again without a Championship.

Over the course of the last 49 years, at some point you had to have picked up the fact that there are 3 phases to the game of football.

Hey, Hey. Just imagine how bad our outlook would be if Schotty was still here.

I see nothing but improvement for this year.

    Two losses.

Since when is losing conference championship games something to brag about?

Like what? Your acting like this team has gone 4-12 every year he's coached. That's not the case. There are things to tweak, but not ALOT.

Oh, SHUT UP ABOUT LOSING TWO PLAYOFF GAMES. Holy fuck. Only losers think losing the same game in back to back years is an accomplishment to be proud of.

How is this is a bad thing to say? I just don't get you people. He is stating his goal is to win the superbowl! What is wrong with that???? You must've been a big mangenius fan with his pussyfart approach to running a team. I can't stand all these Belichick disciples who give you the "it is what it is" answer for every question. I tend to relish a bit of honesty and sincerity.

WTF did he say in that article that upset you? Would you rather him talk about how it's a process???

Seriously, I don't understand why people think RR is so controversial.
