Do the Jets trade up and get the the best RB since Adrian Peterson? For me, it would be mighty tempting.
I would in a heart beat. If we're going back to ground and pound we need a complement back to Greene. T-Rich could very well be that guy.
No, we shouldn't trade up for anyone. If he falls to us, take him and laugh at how lucky we were to get him.
The price to trade up even 5 spots with the current salary dynamic of first round rookies would be far too much to pay for a position that is the easiest to fill. No fucking way do you trade up to 10 for a RB, especially since Tannenbaum has been tossing draft picks out the window like Dan Snyder on steroids for the past 5 seasons. This team lacks depth in the worst way, and it will only get worse if they keep treating the draft like a tool for desperation picks and free agent currency.
I'm with you. Despite his talent level, we have too many pressing needs to be moving the early picks it would take to get up to #10.
It'll take a future first most likely...so no, we don't have good enough depth as it is, we need all the draft picks we can get, especially those high.
right now? no if the right f.a.'s are signed ?yes this team has absolutely no explosive game changing players on either side of the ball. if the holes are filled at s,olb,#2 wr then i say go for it
I wouldn't take him at 16 and would be pretty pissed if we traded away picks to move up a few spots to grab him. What has Adrian Peterson done for the Vikings?? Thats not a knock on peterson but The impact a talent like peterson has on a team as opposed to the impact a mid tier guy has in the league is negligible. Do you need good running backs..sure but you can get good running backs in later rounds. I'm not saying I'm content with what the jets have n the roster at the rb back position right now but just as a personal belief around drafting I wouldn't draft a running back in the first round.
.... Seriously? He single handedly carries that offense, demands defenses stack the box. Not his fault they never had a qb. Look what Rice does fpr the ravens. Hes literally a one man offense
The talent pool at olb this year makes it so tough even though we would have to take Richardson if he was available at our spot. AS A SIDE NOTE, it was rather funny a few months ago before the thought of Richardson dropping to us, every one was saying how we shouldnt be drafting a back since the team has used at least 3 draft picks on the position over the past few years.
Yeah, you are right. The best RB prospect since AP on a "ground and pound" team looking to reincarnate their top tier running game with a QB who plays well with a strong run game would be a bad pick. Since RB’s dont “win” SB, we shouldnt pick a top prospect and a clear BPA. Like someone said, Ray Rice carried that offense to the AFCCG. He was their entire offense- a huge factor in both the run game and pass game. You take away Rice, that offense is terrible. How about Arian Foster? He played behind a 3rd string QB and absolutely tore up defenses that knew they were going to give him the ball 25+ times a game. Who is more valuable to the Texans’ offense? Foster or Andre Johnson? I would say Arian Foster makes that offense run... And if Favre ran out of bounds in the NFCCG, then this whole story could be a moot point because AP could easily have gotten a ring. I would be absolutely ecstatic if the Jets got Richardson... Imagine a draft of Richardson, Curry as a 1/2? That would be fucking awesome... but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none
