Agreed, I don't necessarily think they'd make good on-field logos, they do make great wordmarks however.
I kinda like some of the mock ups the guy did. They're kind of throwbacky, which I'd far prefer over some futuristic contemporary look.
I gotta say that the Patriots one he made is really good. Same with the Browns. The Falcons looks like Abercrombie and Fitch.
It's probably the best looking fake I've seen so far. I'm not in favor of changing anything, but since it's Nike, you never know what kind of uniform they'll throw on the field...(I don't think I have to bring up University of Maryland's helmets?). I wouldn't get too mad if this was real though, being that it's not a drastic change.
The Jets will have final say over all jersey changes to an extent, its not as if Nike can just make whatever uniform they want for us. Woody seems to like the old uniforms, I could see something like this one happening:
I've seen these before & think those are great. Best I've seen. Call me crazy, but as long as they keep the traditional colors I am all for a uniform change, at the very least as an alternate. It's time the franchise stops living in the past and moves forward.
NY is not living in the future. The Jets play in N.J im very much against the NY emblem without the JETS being with it.
The design work is well done and I can appreciate them for that but they don't look like football team logos (even old school football team logos as was the intention). As someone else mentioned, most of them look more like designs for Abercrombie and Fitch t-shirts or restaurant logos or something - just doesn't read football to me. That said, I'm all for a return to more simple, traditional branding rather than the trend towards sleek, futuristic looking logos.
I respect what he did, but they hark back to the 60s in design, style and graphics. I don't know if that what what he was going for. BTW, his Jets logo design is totally uninspired I don't like the following quote: There is a handful of teams — Bears, Packers, Raiders, Saints, Steelers — who still play by the old school rules and don't necessarily need this treatment, but in an effort to make this a cohesive project, no team was spared. Is he criticizing the Jets unis or did he just forget to mention them? Jets current unis are as old school as you can get.
Green uni looks great. Don't like white uni bib effect Keep the current helmet logo. Don't go to stylized "NY" green helmet w/ green unis? white helmet w/white unis? Is this allowed in the current NFL?
