Hopefully the Dolphins are going to either trade up for RGIII or just sign Manning.

The Dolphins run a hybrid defense, so there's not going to be much of a difference on the defensive end. When we do run a 4-3 Starks is one of our DTs and Langford might not be back this year.

Is it true? Their DLs should be on the shopping list then. (Langford and Soliai especially.)

I think Rex would consider being Pats DC if he could get 5 minutes alone with Gisele's feet.

At this point it is impossible to answer. If the Dolphins get Peyton like I think they will and he is healthy then they will challenge for 1st, 2nd and a playoff spot.

If they get Flynn like I hope they will I think they have a better chance of challenging the Bills for the cellar and Philbin will be back as an OC within two years.

    Who knows at this point..

They can take over 2nd, but I don't think they will. If they get a healthy Peyton who is 100% then yes, but I don't see Peyton being 100% healthy. I could see them hanging around a lot a longer than the Bills did this year.

Lets see them get Peyton first before we worry about how effective he will be for them.

If I were Peyton, I would not want to spend the end of my career in the same division as Brady and Belichick.

As soon as he has one crappy loss where he throws for 0 TDs and 3 Ints all the talk will be about how terrible he is and how the Dolphins need to get a QB that doesn't suck (assuming he goes there in the first place). Fans are fickle and usually only base their opinions on the most recent game they watched.

Which is exactly why I hope the Dolphins put all their chips in his basket.

It would be A.J. Feeley, part II.

    Are you kidding me???

Just a change in philosophy and assignments? Oh yeah? So you're saying playing DE in a 4-3 takes a similar player as in a 3-4? Is playing DT in 4-3 anywhere near the same as playing NT? NO. It's not. And by saying this switch will be easy you are just showing your ignorance. Switching your base defense is A LOT harder than switching offensive strategies. Defensive players tend to fit one type of system or another, rarely both. Defensive backs tend to not have to worry about this, but the front 7 absolutely does.

Well, considering the latest reports are saying Peyton's velocity is down by about 40% and he can't throw to his left at all, I doubt they will get a 100% Peyton. So please phins...go for Peyton.

Seriously. Matt Flynn has played in two games for the best team in football right now. One was great the other was decent. They said the same crap about Matt Cassell and Kevin Kolb too. What have they done? Nothing.

He's been in a system that has proven to be very successful in todays NFL for the past 4 years and has been learning under one of the best QB's in the game. When given the opportunity to play he's done extremely well. Given that Philbin is the fins head coach it makes perfect sense to bring in a guy who apparently knows his offensive system very well and has proven he can execute in it.

Yea I don't think a different coordinator makes anywhere near the difference that switching from 3-4 too 4-3 does. Right now the Dolphins are still the third or 4th place team. After FA and the draft who knows.

I think Peyton is a bigger gamble than Flynn right now. Regardless, I doubt either of them will make a big difference for the phins if they end up there. Flynn might develop into a decent game manager, Peyton is just playing out the string and, as of now, can't throw to his left!

Matt Cassel did the same and he has not played anywhere near as well since leaving NE. What happens when you take away his great coaching and offense around him. Flynn is still extremely unproven and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he ended up like Kolb or Cassel.

    262/450, 58.2%, 3116 yards, 27 TDs, 7 INTs, 6.9 YPA, 93.0 rating and a Pro Bowl selection

You consider that year "not playing well"?

It's true, the Packers system has been very successful. Only thing is, Flynn has had almost nothing to do with its success. He's played in what...three games? I'm not saying he won't have some success if he becomes a starter with the phins, but he's got to actually accomplish something before anyone should crown him the next Dan Marino...or even the next Jay Fiedler!
