Edwards was never a big redzone target for us for whatever reason. Maybe Tom Moore could have made that happen, but the truth is that Braylon just wasn't "that guy" for us. I want Braylon back to be our #2, but Plax was much more productive in the red area.

The Jets need a tight end that can be their killer in the red zone. Keller is only a complimentary tight end in a league full of teams that prosper greatly from TE red zone threats. This is a position that is about to explode with importance in the next decade. The Jets need to address this now.

Split end is a position lessening in importance because of the rules changes being made.

I don't think anyone really thought the JETS were going to bring him back, did you?
Plaxico is not young, hes slow, and he rarely gets open. I am fine with trading his 1 on 1 ability in the red zone for an every down receiver. The worst thing the JETS could do is invest 2-3 years into this guy. Let him walk on his own, we will be better off.

While I agree with your assessment, I was actually making a pun based on the title of this thread:grin:

Why the Eagles? So he can feel comfortable with Vick?

I will miss Plax's redzone presence, but that's about it.

He wants a QB who understands what he has gone through to share his pain. Ex-cons don't identify with California GQ cover boys.

He never created any seperation to be targeted too heavily. Im not gonna blame Mark for not throwing it in his direction any more than he did.

He was a big part of the teams offenses in 2009 and 2010 and made a lot of plays. Has the chemistry with Sanchez. What is not to like. Yes he had a down year in San Francisco but they didn't target him a lot and he was hurt. If he is healthy he is a good fit for the offense. Especially because Sparano loves to stretch the field with his wide receivers.

Only 3 people in this thread actually mentioned Edwards in their posts before you made this one, and two of them were in response to that first person saying his name. That's not a cult.

There may actually be more mention of Cotchery in this thread than Braylon.

Like MS cared about that. How picks did he throw into double covage? How many picks did he throw when a man was covered? If MS was any good he would had found Plax and just threw it up and let him go get it. I bet he would had less int's this past season.

Sure Plax was good in the red zone but his lack of separation and speed was part of the reason we didn't get in the red zone enough.

Hopefully he can get some separation from the door before it hits him.
