Classy man..... Oh wait, he's associated with the Jets fan base. He'll be drawn and quartered for this. 98.24% of fans will not understand why he did this.
Why did he do this???? Doesn't he realize that after this win the Jets are second class citizens in that stadium forever and ever????? (please note that this is sarcastic for those who do not understand written sarcasm)
Tannenbaum's job is really cut out for him now. He will have to find the way to get the holes filled.
Great job Woody. Classy move. This should be the last public statement by the Jets until Goodell announces our draft pick
Giants winning the SB shouldn't have an impact on Tanny, except to demonstrate that quick fixes don't work
Of course it does just like it did in 2008. The Jets and Giants do compete financially and although it can't be done to the same degree now after the giants won the last time Tannenbaum went out and got Faneca, Woody, Pace, Richardson, Law and Favre..because of that we were much better. A year later they hired Ryan. Quick fixes will be the rule again although they don't have as much money to spend this time around.
Is there a version of 'wife swap' NFL style where we get coughlin, eli, cruze, jpp, and company and we give them rex, sanchez, and company?????
Woody is class. If we don't win it really doesn't matter who does, we just need to get there and win, that's all.
your cockiness and smarter than 98.24% of jets fans schtick is tired. of course he is going to congratulate them. and as it appears from the replies EVERYONE appears to realize that. so you can get off your high horse and realize you are not so much smarter than everyone else. its almost like you posted this simply to take a dig at jets fans and call them stupid.
Good point Wasn't sure of the timing BUT I hope our free agent signings are the types of moves that are so under the radar that no one realizes how effective they are until the players start producing on the field
Woody was one of the few people in NY who definitely did not want to see the Giants win. He's competing directly against them for fans and PSL buyers, and a hundred thousand 8 to 11 year old Giant fans were created with that win, maybe a lot more than that. Most of us were really happy to see Brady walk off the field shaking his head (again). Woody was probably devastated. The statement was a classy act but I'm sure it was done from a very conflicted point of view.
I think we need to get over it, I talked to Giants fans and they all said they would cheer for the Jets in the Super Bowl if they played the Eagles or Cowboys. This isnt Mets-Yankees, or anything for that matter.
All NFL owners are partners in some sense and Woody and the Mara's and Tisch's are even more so, sharing the same stadium and market in the NFL. They would do the same for us if/when we win it.
