Another super bowl and two more teams built completely different than us. When will we learn you build a team from within in the draft, UDFA and key 2nd tier FA signings not trading away all your picks and going after every big name FA that has a pulse. We will never win a super bowl with the way the Jets FO runs things.

I assume this means don't go after Peyton Manning, right (I hope)

    It's a good question.

The Jet's D is the strong part of the team and it is fundamentally unsound with the front seven overshadowed by the cornerbacks and the safeties almost an afterthought.

You build a team with a good quarterback, something the Jets have not done since Namath

Definitely mean that. I think it would be stupid to go after Manning.

Why do you think it be stupid, getting a top Qb in the NFL is not stupid. Granted if he is healthy that is.

Do you mean that in the current NFL, you win by having a solid QB and passing the ball? Because I hear the Jets want to run, run, run next year.

If you are referring to John Abrahm he is a free agent. We can sign him and still keep Nick Mangold.

The cornerback is the most over-rated position on the whole field. I'd trade Revis straight up for a double digit sack guy.

We need to sign a free agent safety, RT, and TE. Draft OLB and WR's, this would be the best bet.....

    Agreed.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Revis, but a sack machine will make an average CB look way better.

The Jets need a guy that will disrupt QB's with regularity.

And those are probably the best 3 players in the front seven for the Jets. Pro Bowls? Dominant seasons? Impact?

The Jets may have the weakest front seven of any 3-4 team in the NFL right now. They certainly have the only one without a single impact player.

And yeah I think David Harris is a pretty good player but you don't build great 3-4's with pretty good. You build them with great.

I hope you are wrong about Harris. Otherwise pretty good is all we are getting for a $10 mil per year investment. Of course that would be a bargain compared to the $9 mil we are paying for whatever it is that Santionio Holmes does for us.

When a team has a bad QB and plays a ground and pound game they will be in be in close games every week. A couple of plays here and there and a team will make or not make the playoffs.

Without some good luck we would not have made the playoffs in 2009 or 2010. With some bad luck we did not make the playoffs this year.

This will be the case until we get a good QB. The talent level of the team is still very good and not different than in 2009 or 2010 we just had more bad luck this year than the last two.

If we want to win consistently we need a QB. Until that happens for us we will be constantly playing tight games that depend on a couple of plays going our way. Next year will be the same as every other year on this message board. When the Jets win the fans will overreact and anoint them as the best team in the league and when they lose they will be jumping off bridges and will be asking for everyone to be fired. People on message boards will never find a middle ground. They will always gravitate to the extremes. Patience and understanding are not qualities often seen on the inetrnet.

Only if said team is effective at running the ball and has a very solid defense. If not, you run the chance of falling behind early and often. If that's the case, you need to abandon the run. Unless your defense is solid and you can pass the ball, you won't always be in close games.

Your right I neglected to put in my previous post that it is dependent upon having a dominant defense that can keep us in the game.

Wishing for a guy younger in years. To anchor our D-Line for the next 10 seasons. Force Qbs into bad throws to Cro and Revis
