the lesson learned is if you get enough breaks and got luck on your side you can win the superbowl. the breaks giants got towards the end of the season which made the run possible: 1) jets forgetting u have to tackle the player w/ the ball n giving up the 99 yd td to cruz 2) romo getting is hand smashed in and playing like crap against the giants last game of the season 3) 8 drop catches by packers' receivers 4) first kyle williams TO and the fumble which was not due to the quick forward progress whistle 5) drop catch by welker which would've sealed the game
Chicago Cub fans are a perfect example of this. They still sell out every home game and its been almost 100 years for them.
you forgot about Dallas giving away the game against the Cards by icing their own kicker ... but breaks aside ... the Giants do have a knack for hanging around long enough to make one or two plays that win the game. and how did the Pats manage to put ZERO points on the board for the last 25 minutes of the game? the Giants defense didn't look very dominant to me at all. Amazing.
true and also the victor cruz "non-fumble" towards the end of the game against the cardinals...that should've been a loss as well their D keeps them in the game
It's going to be Giants Stadium forever now. Doesn't matter if the Jets actually win a Superbowl. We'll always be the 2nd team in that building who brings home a Title. Giants would be like "Awww...you brought home a title to decorate GIANTS STADIUM with? How sweet" Why oh why couldn't the Jets have gotten their own stadium?? why?
Backing one's team and pointing out trashes are two different things. You are being a Jets homer here. Grow a brain. It does a world of good for you.
When will we ever draft a prime time player like Pierre Paul? Revis is by far the best cornerback in the world but unfortunately his position has the least impact
As much as I loathe them, the Giants are a first class organization. The Jets are one of three non-expansion teams to have not made the Super Bowl (even one expansion team...the Panthers...made it) since 1974. 'Nuff said. I love them and will always root for them, but the Jets as an organization, are the drizzling shits.
Just because he is stating an obvious flaw in our defense does not make him less of a fan. That's what a message board is for, to have discussion, critique our team. Not blow sunshine up your own ass and pretend we have a great front seven when they're average at best.
Why are you so hung up on this??? It it ridiculous. I am a season ticket holder and when you go to Jets home game, you wouldn't even know the Giants played there. The Jets play the Pats twice a year every year and need to be better than them to win a division and earn home playoff games. The Jets don't see the Giants again until 2015. After the Giants won SB 42, they shit to bed for three straight season and the Jets owned the post season in NY in 09 and last year. Again, the Jets won SB III 43 years ago. Did that mean the Jets ruled NY football for 50 years???? Next year is a new year and everybody starts over again and this season will mean nothing. Stop getting so hung up on the shared stadium thing. It is an argument a 5 year old would have over who owns a toy.
One thing we learned is Rex was spot on when he said that IF we get into the playoffs, anything can happen. The Giants were DEAD at 7-7 after losing AT HOME to the dead-skin's and they barely, with the same luck we needed, squeezed into the playoffs. Then, as Rex said, anything can happen. So maybe, just maybe, Rex does know what the fuck he's talking about.
I'm definitely overreacting here but I still find it extremely frustrating and annoying that basically....Nothing has changed since the Jets moved to this new stadium. Nothing....Abso-fucking-lutely...NOTHING. Only thing that's different is the stadium name.
The Steelers drafted FOUR hall of farmers in the same draft ... Swan, Stallworth, Webster and Lambert. We haven't drafted ONE over 40 years! if that doesn't sum it up I don't know what does.
Is making the SB and not winning it that great? Ask a Bills fan or a Vikings fan or a Falcons fan or a Chargers (etc.) fan how it feels to not win. Winning championships is the key. Getting there and losing sucks. There are 13 franchises that have more SB wins than the Jets. That is it. I know its been a long time, but stop with the over reaction. This season hurt, but sometimes you need to take a step back to take two steps forward. I am hopeful that is what will happen. Brady will be 35 next year and Bellichick 60. The window is closing for the Pats. The Jets need to keep building a team that makes the playoffs on a consistent basis and one year things will fall our way. If impatience takes over, the Jets will be forever rebuilding and changing.
