I wasn't arguing about it I was asking for some kind of proof that Schotty actually said that. I wouldn't expect it to be that interesting to a Dolphins fan, but I would certainly be interested to know if he actually made those comments.
He said 'it has been reported'. Usually that type of comment has something resembling... A FUCKING REPORT. Sorry for being blunt, but your suck is showing.
So I have read all the posts so let me give you my spin. 1. Sanchez was under constant pressure. I understand certain qbs need to get in a rhythm and feel comfortable to do well. however he never made any truly special plays from under stress and always made the worst decision. The fact that he could never keep his eyes downfield and would always check down. those were all his problem but things that can be coached. 2. shotty's play calling was garbage...throwing on first down and running on second every single set of downs made it pretty easy for the opposing defensive coordinator to get pressure on Sanchez. 3. He is young. He is 25, he's has already seen a lot of big games and has one a good amount of them. It is easy to get discouraged but hard to stick with someone through the bad. Let's get him in a better situation with a better oline and a better scheme that fits his strengths. We need to stick with him and let him develop. The last thing we want is for us to get rid of him, he goes somewhere with a good oc and qb coach and thrives. If Upshaw is gone and Floyd is on the board we Should grab him. Holmes and Floyd could be a great tandem for years to come we just need Mark to come into his own. He only had one year in college as a starter we knew it could be a longer learning curve with him. Lets stick by his side now. He has done a lot since getting here.
Nobody, I mean we have this cute little feature on this site where every article that mentions the Jets on any major site is displayed on the tab to the right of the forum. If it hasn't come through there, or been posted by any number of people looking to shit on Sanchez, it doesn't exist.
It's a NY Jets message board ...a discussion forum ...a place for people to offer their opinions and share what they've seen, read or heard. It's not a journalistic publication or broadcast. There's no code of "ethics" here. If there were, you wouldn't be able to toss the word "fraud" around as easily as you just did.
Check the forum rules. There's actually one against the reporting of false news. That is a device of ethics. And using the word 'fraud' in reference to you is easier than you apparently think is possible.
It is better to remain silent and [be thought a fool], than to open your mouth and [remove all doubt]: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81db9c7e/Edwards-37-yard-reception Are you telling me this year's version of offense was designed around Sanchez's limitations? So Pennington had to throw god-awful amount of quick out patterns in his last remaining days in Jets uniform? Seriously, are you smoking something? Schottenheimer never maximized the strength his QBs had - he exposed their weaknesses to the maximum instead. I thought a retard could understand that part. I guess I was wrong on that account too. And I demand the link. WHERE? Where was it reported? In your own deluded imagination? That's again, the soap opera within your own deluded reality, right?
For all the argument here, all questions will be answered in the coming season. Really don't think Payton is going anywhere but retierment. His choices of wheelchair the rest of his life or making and developing the next generation of Manning's seems pretty simple. I can see Payton moving on to the coaching ranks, yet I believe his playing days are now behind him. As far as Mark goes, no matter which side of the "can develop or never will develop", argument you are on, there are clearly problems with our present QB that have to be corrected. Mark gets his fourth year to show he is the long term answer at QB with a whole new coaching staff in place to ensure that. Yet, if at the end of next season we are still seeing the same things that have haunted Mark is whole pro career , please , no one start a thread of " he needs more time to learn the new offense".. Please keep in mind that Mark will be leaving behind one of the most complicated offense mutants, to learn a simplfied system. If he has trouble doing this, then, it not the system, it's the QB.... While I believe Mark should have a chance to show he can get the job done (4th year) I also believe where there is smoke there is fire. While I take all the "(rumors)" with a grain of salt, there would be no rumors if there were not problems. So no matter how much we wish to dismiss then, long term veterans expressing concern about Mark abilitiys should raise red flags until totally disproven. In that vain, I expect the Jets to bring in a backup QB who will challenge Mark and wants nothing more then to take his job. No more old men who will never see the field short of a season ending injury. I want a backup who will hold his helmet in his hand the whole game in hopes the starter gets pulled and he gets his chance.
A lack of a printed source isn't evidence that a story is false. Example: Suppose something gets mentioned by Tony Kornheiser during "Pardon the Interruption" that he attributes to a source he spoke with that day. There's no printed reference to which a poster here can link, but the story is certainly not a "false story." Additionally, printed stories aren't always true. The stories about the high degree of turmoil in the Jets locker room this past season have been disputed by many here; however, that doesn't make it a "false story." I'm pretty sure the rule you referenced is really intended to warn people off making crap up out of whole cloth, and not meant to function in the way you've just attempted to apply it.
Unless there is a source, even a second or third hand source as you mention with Tony Kornheiser, what Noam posted was basically making crap up out of whole cloth. There has never been even a vague notion of what he said was 'reported' in the past 3 years. That is why people are asking for a link. Because it rings false. Much like your argument to support it.
I'm neither supporting it nor opposing it. My comment was that it fit the ongoing narrative. I disagree with your assessment that it rings false. Shot must have had a reason to leave guaranteed money on the table and resign from the Jets. The story is plausible in that context. And again, the lack of a link doesn't mean that the story wasn't told somewhere.
The lack of mention of any valid source does, in addition to corroborating evidence. That Schotty left money on the table could be the result of a myriad of issues within the organization. It doesn't necessarily support this false report that Noam provided. I could say that you steal car stereos to pay for your addiction to methamphetamine. No basis in fact or source of knowledge, but it starts a narrative, right? There's a reason that reports are credited to sources, and also a reason that anonymous sources lack the credibility of named sources.
People get fired and hired in football all the time, don't they? And with Shot's pedigree, he could probably weather it better than most.
The jets need to get an offensive line to protect him,, Did'nt any of you watch the games this past season.. Mark was either running for his life or getting crushed by some defensive lineman from one side or the other. If we put Manning back there he would not last last a game or two and WE would be the ones that ended his career,,, UMMM NO THANK YOU,, we dont need that over our heads. Someone just needs to work with Mark to not look at one reciever, but on the other had he did not have time to look at a second one.. Does this make sense. Your meat and spuds is your offensive line. I hope they fix it in the draft or FA. Go Jets
