That piece of shit of a ice rink built had the puck bounce funny out. Rangers deserved that win...Got the point, lets move on. I hate the Devils
I want to be in the room when someone breaks it to the Devils that there's no shootout in the playoffs. If they even make it.
You have followed the Devils this year, haven't you? You think them winning in the shootout is a one time thing? Fact of the matter is, you should be a little concerned. Their struggle to win games before the shootout is a problem. The regulation/OT win tiebreaker could keep them out of the playoffs.
Ok, let me preface this by saying I think that unless Crosby comes back the East is a two-team race between New York and Boston (although if I had to choose which one I'd play in a 7 game series, as a Devs fan, give me New York without question). The Devils are making the playoffs this year. This is a team that has yet to go on a run, and I think a lot of that can be contributed to the fact that they haven't been fully healthy once all year. They still aren't healthy, but Lou made a savvy move improving the right wing depth in acquiring Ponikarovski, and Clarkson has been playing so well that it's allowed them to weather this latest health storm. Yea, we know you guys didn't start Hank tonight. We didn't have Zajac or Henrique. And I don't know how much you watch the Devils, but trust me when I tell you Henrique has been the most important player on the team bar none. Without Zajac, we were looking at having RYAN CARTER center the line with Kovi and Parise, and then Henrique came along and was playing at a point-per-game pace. It's a shame he got hurt because he was making a case at ripping the Calder away from RNH. As I said, I think we'd get swept by Boston and as much as I want to say "eat shit Rags lover" or "Grachev brah", in my heart of hearts I must admit that if I had to predict I'd say Rangers in 6. It's why I think if the writing on the wall that Zach is in fact gone, he needs to be shipped out NOW. But I'd also really like to see this team FINALLY play with everyone healthy, and that includes three main cogs that were missing tonight in the two previously mentioned centers, and Tallinder. And I know...I know Tallinder isn't that good. But Kurtis Foster blows such a heavy load of penis that Tallinder is a definite upgrade.
Do not count out the dreaded Flyers, Claude Giroux and Jagr on the same line scare me, and if Brzgalov gets his head out of his ass they could be deadly.
Not that the Rangers have done it recently either, but always ready come playoff time? The Devils haven't won a first round series since 2006-2007.
And also, I don't want to hear about "not being fully healthy all year." Let's not turn Travis Zajac into Sidney Crosby here. And btw, the Rangers haven't had a game yet with all of their regulars on D either. Staal is only about 10 games back, and Sauer's been out for a while now too. Every team has injuries.
Travis Zajac is a first line center in this league. I still get a good chuckle when Ranger fans try to say Dubinsky is better. C'mon man be fair. I literally gave you the fact that the Rags are in prime position to win the East, but don't sit up here and try to compare injuries to role players like Michael Sauer and Steve Eminger, to a team not having their number 1 center pretty much all year. Our main physical presence in Volchenkov was out for a while, our only PMD in Greene was out for a while and just got back. Aside from the Stahl injury, the Rags have yet to deal with one injury that takes out someone that you could consider a key cog. There's no question who's been healthier this year, although given Gabby's track record, I'd say it's just a matter of time before something happens to him. Oh and MikeDevito, as much as I love comparing the post-season success of the Rangers and Devils, the past 5 years have not been kind to us. Although the one playoff series we did win was against a Torts coached team which means nothing...but maybe it's an omen.
Oh, here we go. Even one of your fellow Devil fans pointed out how rough it's been since any of those Cup runs. And being that Marty's days are clearly numbered (with no legitimate answer to follow him) and the team has no money to spend, you'd better cling to the good old days because they ain't coming around again for a long time.
Hah. Or so you'd like to think. Kovi is here for the long-term. Henrique, Larsson, Josefson and Fayne are all young studs, and while Tedenby looked like shit his first go-round, he's still a very young and talented player. Shit even guys like Zajac and Volchenkov are young. I'm more worried about re-signing Zach then replacing Marty. The fact is goalies these days aren't as hard to acquire as in the past. When an option is to sign Thomas Vokuhn next year and call it a day, that's not a bad option. Other guys like Halak might even be available.
As mentioned, young players that are all going to be big contributors one day. I don't care if Brodeur comes back or not because Kinkaid (spelling) and Frazee have been waiting their turn. I say we sign Hedberg one year and let Frazee or Kinkaid be his backup. Moose is old, but better than Marty. We just need our 2 centers back then we have three lines that can score. Janssen and Boulton will then be able to run around like chickens with their head cut off. It does sound like Travis could be done for the year though. On thing i don't get is why is Josefson 4th line when his plus/minus was 0 and Carter gets the 3rd line and in 8 minutes of ice time was -2?
outrageous fucking win!!!!!!! way to go !!! that was a bloodsport of a game tonight considering the the way they call penalties these days, they swallowed the whistle on a bunch of stuff. even one of the refs got hurt in the 1st period. i'm gonna watch it again i think right now, that was hairy. both goalies were stellar tonight.
