Burress is part of the reason our redzone % went up. If not for nothing he is useful in that role. We can only hope they let bygones be bygones and plus Edwards will be had for cheap.
Well, they paid Edwards 6 million for 7 TDs 2 years ago and Burress 3 million for 8 TDs last year..I don't think they are that desperate to get him back especially after the disaster he had this year.
They have been about second chances since Rex walked through the door. Think of it as Pit Bulls and Parolees but with football players instead of ex-cons and dogs. Well, dogs anyway. Bringing in some brand new FA and cutting loose one or both of Plax/Holmes just means more incontinuity at the receiver position.
^^Diamond Dave back on tour with Eddie Van Halen just goes to show that any reconciliation is possible.
Ya think? So an 8 million cap hit means nothing to you, huh? That's why you don't have a job with the Jets.
Yeah, that's why I don't have a job with the Jets. Do you even look at what you just typed before you click submit?
Of course I do, but do you? If the Jets had to absorb a 5 million cap hit or an 8 million cap hit I still believe they would rather accept the 5 million.
If you look, then you obviously don't comprehend. Nobody on this message board should be working for the Jets.
C'mon. That means nothing. It's like the shit that comes out of Rex's mouth. Seriously, what is he going to say? "Braylon, are you a locker room cancer?" "I sure am."
I can't forget the Pitt game last December where we needed a win in the worst way and watching the replay on NFL network you have Rex waffling wether to go for it on 4th and goal and there's Braylon like " c'mon coach let's go for it" and then Rex decides to go. Schotty calls the naked bootleg to Sanchez and we go on to win the game. Braylon was perfect for the jets. Heck he practically called the play that set up the field goal and got us by the colts in the wild card game. He made the bigger catch in the texans game last yr too not holmes who gets more credit for the td. And sanchez was off in the patriot game until he directed braylon and hit him on a deep throw down the left sideline. That loosened him up and his throws were on target for most of the game after that. Braylon was so happy to be here and out of the black hole Cleveland is. His first year he dropped some balls but year 2 he played about as well as you can for a receiver in this offense. Second go arounds don't always work out but in this case he's young still so I am not going to get my hopes up but would be thrilled if he came back.
Very impressive charity work I have to say - gotta give him major props for following through on something like that. It seems like BE really got a bum rap with his minor off the field issues and his comment about Big Ben was right on the money. I wonder what the real reason was that they let him walk? In any case, I would love to see him back as a Jet as long as the physical issues are resolved. He embraced the Jets, the fans embraced him - unless there are some underlying issues between him and the organization that we just don't know about, I don't know why they wouldn't want him back in green and white.
Everything in this post encapsulates how I felt during the recaps of games in the miked up sessions we were afforded. I liked Braylon, but his behavior off the field was a concern to me. After seeing Santonio's on field performance and hearing about his locker room antics... fights in a club seem small in comparison.
Did you read Braylon's Tweet AT ALL?? the one where he said that while he didn't like how things worked out, he'd be willing to come back? Apparently not....
