It is really becoming more evident every day that Manning won't play this year or maybe ever so whatever plan B is it is time to start discussing that. The Jets have made it chear there will be another QB in camp. Does that mean just competition or a replacement? Maybe Flynn, I don't really see us pulling off a trade to move up high enough to get RG3 and I don't see anybody else in FA worth getting.
Newton looks like the enxt Vick. A true dual threat qb that can redefine the position. I think Dalton might be this year's Sanchez - early success, but will never get much better. I dont like Ponder at all. I love Gabbert as a qb. I think he will struggle for a few games next year too, but at some point I think he will just get it and become a stud. Locker is the exact opposite, he was a guy with a ton of hype, but is not great at anything. And people forget that he was pretty bad in his last year. Yates is okay, but again, nothing special. When all is said and done, I think that Newton and Gabbert will be the cream of the crop in that draft and the rest of the guys will be nothing special. Which is basically historically accurate. In most drafts only a third of the qb's develop into NFL caliber qb's, and 1st round picks are always hit or miss. Look at Sanchez's class. Stafford is a stud, while Sanchez and Freeman are probably bust's...
Thats just dumb. You wouldnt trade him for Adrian Peterson (again, assuming a cap free world). You wouldnt trade him for Vick? You wouldn't trade him for Clay Matthews? Please, saying Sanchez is more valuable than only 3 players on other teams, which you are implying, is ludicrous. There are about 200 NFL players that I would easily trade Sanchez for, along with about 150 NFL draft picks. This might be the most extreme example of Sanchez nut-hugging that I have ever seen.
I wouldnt trade him for Vick, but absolutely the other too. Matthew's would look great on this defense.
I think there's quite a few teams that would give up a #1 for RG3. That doesn't mean RG3 is definitely going to be a franchise qb but whenever a qb is viewed as a potential franchise qb, it always draws attention from the league.
Lol. He didn't even phrase it to state he would only take 3 qb's over Sanchez. It was implied that he would only take 3 NFL players over Sanchez. If there was an example to illustrate the term "bat shit crazy" in Webster's, that would be the example.
well at least we agree on one point. what indications do u have rg3 will be good in the nfl? how many years are r u willing to give him with rotating players and having a GM making bad decisions about the personnel?
Why stop there? If the Packers want Sanchez for Rodgers we should at least make them throw in Clay Matthews if we're going to pull the trigger.
assuming u mean qb's only - imo, i would include rivers, eli, stafford, and even vick. not sure about ryan and schaub - they appear to be like sanchez to me, especially schaub. ryan is better though.
i sure wouldnt... big ben = rapist, his first sb performance was avg at best, def won that game...2nd sb, they barely won against the freaking cardinals... eli = claimed "elite" the year after throwing 25 ints and his team only went 9-7 stafford = injured all the time schaub = no...texans got to the playoffs w/o him and foster carried the offense & def was great newton = no, his team didn't even go .500 romo = can't win a clutch game ryan = oh god no...great in regular season, not so in the playoffs...pass rivers = again great in regular season, not so in the playoffs...
Last time I checked AP was getting knee surgery to repair a torn ACL and MCL and would be lucky to make it back by week 4...
Why all the references to Playoffs? Besides Brady's 17-5 playoff record, what other QB has done anything in the playoffs that you would consider "good"? Peyton Manning is 9-10 in the playoffs and by your criteria the guy sucks. And by the way, each of those QB's are head and heels above Sanchez.
